Fully Insured Responsible Pet Lover

Pet care experience

Hi my name is Kayla and I am avid animal lover and had pets for majority of my life. I am fully insured through Pet Sitters Associates, outside of Rover. I currently have my 11yr old dog Harley. I am an experienced petcare provider with 20+ years experience including rescuing and rehabilitating abandoned, abused, or neglected dogs. I am reliable, trustworthy and energized sitter, who wants to do nothing short of making your pet feel as comfortable as possible while you are away. As a dog owner myself, I understand how important it is for your dog to feel safe and secure in their environment. I can assure you that this will be the case during their stay with me. I make sure to provide plenty of love and affection, and treat all animals the same way I would want my own to be treated. You can rest easy knowing that your dog is having a safe and happy stay :). I am both equipped to handle last minute and/or emergency situations (meet & greets are still required). If your pet is on medication, I can administer them. I am comfortable administering medication (pill, liquid, eye drops or topical) to your pet, as long as the pet will allow me to do it safely. Any injectable medication method you use must be shown to me in person, to avoid stressing your pet(s) out. If you have any pointers to what method (other than injectable) you found was easier, I am open to your suggestions. I am obligated to not only keeping your pet's mind at ease, but yours as well. I will send a daily update on how your pet is doing and including pictures because I love taking a good old snapshot! If you are in need of a sitter who is going to give your pet the attention it needs.

Kayla was a life-saver for us as she took in Rufus for a whole week over New Years while we were away for our wedding. She is always very knowledgeable and attentive to our instructions. She’s someone you can pretty much leave your dog with and worry no more. She was on-top of keeping us updated and provided some stellar pictures in the process. We are so grateful

Safety, trust & environment

I'm located in a pet friendly area and building that include elevators (especially important for senior/ special need dogs with joint issues), close proximity to several local veterinarian practices, local parks. Your pup will have access to multiple waters bowls, toys and comfortable beds I have throughout my place. They are able to roam the apartment and relax, though they are generally encouraged to hangout wherever the family is located at the time. During mealtime everybody is separated either by a room, gate and/or crate to avoid any potential food stealing and disagreements. Whenever myself and/or my father needs to leave the apartment and there's no supervision available, everyone will be separated for the duration of that time.

Information Kayla T. would like to know about your pet

I require a meet & greet with all new clients and pets. When I meet a new client and their dog, there are some questions I like to ask before the stay. I believe that having a thorough conversation about your pet's history, behavior, temperament, level of socialization, and individual quirks, will ensure that I am a great match for you and your dog. All of the questions I ask at a meet-and-greet are aimed at giving me the best, overall picture of your pet's personality, and will provide me with the information I need to provide the best care and a worry-free visit. All breeds are welcomed. Whether you have a teacup Yorkie, or an over-sized Great Dane that thinks they are a lap dog, all doggie visitors will feel at home! Some typical questions I will ask at a meet-and-greet are: -How long have you had your pet(s)? Please give me a brief history of your relationship together. -Does your pet(s) have any medical issues or special care instructions? -What is your pet(s) typical daily routine? -How often does your pet interact with other dogs? Please describe those interactions. -Does your pet pull on the leash? Do they lunge at other pedestrians during walks, or try to chase after cats, cars, squirrels, etc.? -What are your pet's favorite games to play/treats to eat? -Are they up to date on their required vaccinations? (I will need to see proof before arrival, if booked) -How many times a day are they fed & how much for each meal? -Does your pet get along with children? I do not have any children, but kids love to play with animals and I wouldn't want any mishaps on my walks with your dog. -Is your pet housebroken? The meet-and-greet is a great time to discuss your dog's care and address any of your concerns, so please come prepared with any questions you might have for me! Please share anything else you find valuable and important.

A typical day

-My hosting adult dog guests are generally taken out 4x-5x daily, The morning, mid-day, evening and right before bed. While there are times I'll be in and out of the home, even with my father being home majority of the time. To avoid any extended time inside, there will opportunities that I will take your dog(s) out with me on a day adventure. -My housesitting adult dogs are generally taken out the morning and evening walks. There will be times I do tend to be in and out of the home. So to avoid any extended time without me there, there will be opportunities for your dog(s) to come out with me on a day adventure. -Since puppies generally require more attention and potty breaks to keep up with their potty training lessons. They are offered more opportunities to go potty than adults. The frequency will be discussed prior to officially booking (generally during a meet & greet), since puppies are not a one fit all type of scenario. -Any housesitting requests for cats (no dog household) will strictly be for overnight services and will not include any mid-day visits. Unless requested for additional visits. *** Important Information: All physically healthy dogs 7 months and older must be able to be left alone for approximately 4-5 hours. In order for me to properly take care of my other scheduled clients and my own family obligations. I am not able to accommodate constant care requests. ***

Availability

I offer array of services. I currently offer regular weekly and occasional dogwalking services for clients. This is only available monday to friday, with two (2) available time windows. Which is either from the hours of 10am-2pm and/or 2pm-6pm. I can not offer exact times due to any delays that may arise from (including but not limited to) a simple cleanup of a pet's mess to a medical emergency which requires immediate attention with a medical professional. I can accommodate a smaller window for young puppies learning to be potty trained, seniors with incontinence and special needs (time sensitive medication, like insulin and/or bladder expression). Drop-in services are generally used for vacationing clients. There are four (4) time windows that I offer. The hours are from 7am-11am, 10am-2pm, 1pm-5pm and/or 4pm-8pm. My rate for overnight hosting (includes walking, feeding) are by the calendar day. Drop-off's & pick-up's during monday-friday are done within the hours of 8am-9:30am and/or 6pm-7:30pm, by appointment. Weekends are more flexible, but still by appointment. Your pet(s) morning routine on the last day is included. If you are not returning until later (after 9:30am) on the last day and need of an additional time, the extended care feature will be applied for the remainder of the day (to cover up until 8pm). My rate for housesitting is for overnights, which includes evening, morning and mid-day (walk & feeding included). If any additional visits are needed, they are available at a discounted rate. **All hosting, housesitting, walks and/or drop-in services that fall within a major holiday week are subject to a holiday fee(s).** **** Important Information: In order for me to continue to offer equal, proper and quality care to any and all pets (including my own dog) in my care. I can NOT accommodate constant care housesitting requests AND/OR daycare requests in your home. Meaning, I have the ability to step out of your home for approximately 4 hours at a time during the day. These type of requests take away all the time I have to offer all other pets equally. NO EXCEPTIONS will be made!!! Thank you. ****
