Kay is FUR THE KIDS!!!

Pet care experience

Hi, my name is Kayla but I prefer to go by Trin! I LOVE caring for any type of animal. I’ve always loved animals and was planning on going to school to become a vet, but I realized just how sad the medical animal care industry can be. But luckily I was fortunate enough to be given an opportunity from blessed Oasis, to then jumpstart myself into the animal care job industry. I've worked as a dog bather, and kennel assistant in hospitals. I've administered medicine of various forms including pills, ointments, and insulin shots. You definitely don't have to worry about a lack of playtime and potty breaks! I try to promote healthy brain stimulation while also catering to your dog's personality. I also personally just love animals no matter the subject, if you have any fun facts about them I'm always down to listen. I'm still very curious about continuing my research in animal biology in my free time though. Also, don't worry about messes, I've learned from these jobs that I enjoy stress cleaning, so minor chores, and accidents aren't any problem as well.

Kayla was great with Whiskey and kept up with his daily routine. Although, upon our first scheduled meet and greet, she didn’t show without communicating until I reached out. She also forgot original start time of sitting or was late coming back to the house. When I arrived home, my house was not as if should be. Stuff was everywhere and I cleaned up after her staying at the house. I appreciate all she did for whiskey, but disappointed in how my things were left and the timeliness.

Kayla provided care above and beyond what I could have expected for my pets. I have two who are on daily medications and her knowledge, experience, and comfort with medication administration allowed me to relax and enjoy my vacation. I knew my pets would be well cared for! As a veterinarian, and knowing too much sometimes that things can happen, I was able to breathe easy knowing my pets were in Kayla’s care. Would highly recommend her services!

Kayla did a great job with my dog. She came over prior and got to know her. She kept my dog busy with tons of exercise and activities, and provided photos and videos to keep me updated. I will absolutely call on her again to watch my dog!

At my house, I currently have a new puppy brother to take care of in addition to my bunny. They're both on a routine schedule with stimulating tasks in between with potty breaks. Obviously, my personal bunny's routine is a lot simpler than Onyx my puppy brother. But I take care of both just as I would any job that cares for animals. The rewarding part about this job field is I kinda naturally already feel a need to nurture and protect any being in front of me. Whether it’s a child or animal but I tend to do it with the most care for a job. It’s somewhat validating knowing I’m really good at taking care of animals cause I’ve always wanted to be a vet my whole life. So know that in everyone I take care of I care for as my own. I’m certain my energy transfers well; being that I’m very good with shy/scared animals. I’d love to stress clean so any household tasks that need to be done I wouldn’t mind doing while also monitoring the fur babies.

Information Kayla P. would like to know about your pet

ANYTHING HEALTH RELATED! Honestly, I feel it’s better to say and mention any health issues at the beginning of any animal's stay with a sitter. To just eliminate the possible room for error and also spread awareness to prevent something before it even happens. From having light allergies to severe allergies, having a special way they take their pills is the easiest to honestly which toy they can't sleep without. I think any information the owner sees is fit to tell me about the care of their child, I would love to hear and be informed of it. I'm one who likes to ask questions!

A typical day

Well depending on what area the owner suggests just to give familiarity to the dogs. I would start the day with a nice walk through the neighborhood first visit, just to be sure they’re comfortable with a new person. I surprisingly learned that I can play fetch with dogs for a longer time than the average person would participate lol. I don't mind and have experience swimming with dogs in a pool and also observing them in kiddie pools. Fetch is always a favorite with the kids; you know old reliable, or tug of war. BUT I ALWAYS CAN PET THEM, no matter the length of time, or hold them. if they liked to be carried, I can do that as well.

I’m currently going to school to get certification in becoming a part-time daycare teacher. So I'm trying to expand my care for animals to fit my school schedule. I’ve worked plenty of jobs that overall involve caring for animals. Be it a boarding/daycare, or pet resort, I’ve worked at Highland animal hospital!!!
