Pet care experience
I have owned dogs most of my life but became predominantly a cat owner at 23, currently own 4 rescue cats ages 4-10 & very recently added a rescue Shepard mix pup to the bunch. I am currently a veterinary assistant & cat adoption’s assistant! In the past I have volunteered and worked in animal care for shelters, worked as a cat adoption counselor, worked at a dog daycare, fostered over 30 cats and 2 dogs in my career, pet sat for homes with 2 pets and at most 13 pets . I’ve cared for cats, dogs, birds, fish and any other critter you can think of I’ve probably cared for!

Kayla and I both volunteered at a local animal rescue organization, but hadn’t crossed paths. I reached out to the community looking for a cat-sitter for our cats, for a two week trip. Kayla and I connected, met, and the rest is history. Kayla has been our dedicated cat-sitter ever since and has taken excellent care of or cat family on more than 5 occasions. We couldn’t love her more! When we come home, the cats are so at ease they seem almost bored to see us, as thought they’d prefer Kayla (oh, cats!). Three of our five cats have feral roots, and although they tend to hide when people are around, that’s not the case with Kayla. They trust her as much as we do. Between her work with rescues and veterinarians, Kayla comes with ample animal care experience, and couldn’t be more dedicated. We cannot recommend her more highly and I’d be willing to serve as her reference at any point. ❤️

I will follow any schedule you have provided for your pet and I also do light housework upon request. I enjoy a detailed list of pet routines, favorite snacks, toys, etc. I am willing to administer medications (ie pills, ointments) if your pet requires.

I have a partially fenced in yard that can be loads of fun on the leash! I will otherwise do my best to match activities with what best suits your pet.

Availability
I am currently working full time and will be available most evenings for walks or housesitting (available upon request: all day Mon-Wed; only evening visits on Thurs-Sun). Please give 72 hours notice for cancellations and 24 hours notice for emergency housesitting appointments or extensions.
