Navy Vet Playing With Pups!

Pet care experience

Hello there! Thanks for taking the time to check out my profile! I just moved to Bellingham after having served as a Hospital Corpsman in the Navy for the last 5 years. We started doing Rover back on the base in California, and I truly loved spending time with the dogs. It's been very therapeutic and has helped me in a lot of areas in my life and made me more confident as a person. I am home full time now so I have plenty of time to love on and take care of your fur baby! I am not afraid of dog drool or dog hair here, and offer a one of a kind experience. I do offer 10% military, fire fighter, teacher, and police officer discount as a way of saying thanks for sacrificing time and energy to help make the world a better place. - If you qualify for the above discount please let me know, I'm willing to add it, but I don't know then I can't help you. Even though I am in a town home, there is plenty of parks that I would gladly take your pup to. We go on a walk once daily, depending on the weather conditions. I try and keep my home as clean as possible and bleach my floors on a regular basis to cut down on bacteria to provide a healthy experience for your pups. I have experience with giving dogs medications, and am comfortable with high anxiety dogs. About 80% of my previous clients are high anxiety dogs and we do our best to accommodate to make sure your pup is as comfortable as possible. I have only sent home 3 dogs the entire time I have been doing this as a Rover Sitter, so I have pretty much seen it all. I like to do meet and greets ahead of time to ensure your dog is a good fit to stay with my kids and I. We can meet wherever you would feel more comfortable. I manage well both my boys with taking care of your dog, so please don't feel like you're inconveniencing me with your pup. I purposely bring them ahead of time so they don't get caught off guard when there is a new pup in the home. I DO NOT accept payments outside of Rover. It's completely against Rover's Policy for me to do so. Also I can also pick up and do drop off's depending on how close by you live to me, just ask. Many clients ask what they should bring for the stay, I say use your discretion and bring whatever you feel will make your dog comfortable. We have wet and dry food here in my home as well as treats, but it is not anything fancy. We also have a variety of different sized kennels, so if your pup requires being kenneled at night time we have you covered there as well. Our schedule does fill up very quickly, so I update the schedule daily. So if you do an inquiry about a stay please let me know ASAP if you are wanting to proceed further. I have a strict cancellation policy due to this. Overall I have several very happy repeat clients, and I love to help out where and when I can, so please reach out! I hope to hear from you soon! -Kayla

Kayla did a great job with our older dog. She gave us updates and sent pictures as well.

Kayla was wonderful! She was available short notice, easy to communicate with, and my dog came home happy. Big thanks and highly recommend.

All went well for our first time with Kayla. Great that she took him (and her dog) on a lovely walk and the dogs got along well too.

Kayla was fantastic with our puppy. This was our first time not taking him on a trip with us and she took excellent care of him. She identified his anxiety, made him comfortable and stayed in frequent contact with us. I have already booked her for our next trip.

So for safety, again it's important to meet ahead of time if possible. I know that there is life things that happen so we can't always meet ahead of time. But it's just to feel things out and make sure you are the right fit for me and my dog as well.

Information Kayla L. would like to know about your pet

Does your dog do well on a leash? Also does your dog do well with other dogs? I want to cater and make sure to take your dog to appropriate walking areas if your pup doesn't do well around other dogs. I have a Pembroke-Welsh Corgi named Morty, and he does well, but we always like to double check here.

A typical day

Since I just moved here, I have been exploring all the cute parks, but my go to spot is Lake Padden! I will only take your dog inside the dog park unless I have permission. I typically walk around the lake because the walk alone is such good exercise!

Availability

I am home full time! I am currently going to college online for medical billing and coding, so I have plenty of capability to let your dog out on frequent potty breaks. I am up no later than 7 am daily, so I immediately let out your dog and mine, followed by breakfast, and whatever other routines are happening. Unless it's massively storming, I will go for a walk every single day, it's good for my health and theirs. If I am house sitting, I will send pictures, in the morning, and evening. And update you on any concerns I have but try to keep things minimal to allow you to enjoy your time away!
