Pet care experience
Hello fur baby owners! My name is Kayla and I currently live in Fishtown. I'm a FurMom and a caregiver for the human kiddos. I have 4 pets. A dog, two cats and a ferret. I've had animals since I was a little girl so I have a lot of experience in taking care of birds, small mammals, dogs and cats. I grew up always taking in animals, one of them including my dog Butkus aka Scooby Doo! I've actually found him back in 2013 as I was riding my bike to The Philadelphia Zoo (where I used to work) and saw he had nowhere to go so I decided to take him in which was the best decision I've ever made! He is my pride and joy. My very best friend and helps me cope with my anxiety. I could not imagine life without him along with my other furbabies (cats) Daisy and Buddy whom I had since 2011 and my ferret Icarus whom I had since 2015. Me and my fiancé, Pat do not have (human) children yet but we decided as for now to take care of our furry ones until that time comes and we would love and help take care of yours as well! Butkus loves to dress up and loves to cuddle, along with my cats - not so much the dressing up part. Icarus, our ferret loves to play in water. He reminds me of a little polar bear (he will be caged when you bring your pets over) I also have a large fenced play pen if needed as well. Butkus is also crate trained. They all eat grain free food/treats. I'm able to give potty breaks for Butkus as many times as he needs to (which is about 4 times a day) along with your pets. I would have to walk them since I don't have a yard. Butkus goes around the block and will only go where there is a patch of dirt/grass but thankfully Fishtown is a dog friendly neighborhood and we have a lot of parks! Your pets are allowed on our furniture (I encourage cuddling) and we have many toys for them to play with. I have plenty of free time to go over to my clients place as well to take care of their pets and any needs required. I am looking forward to start a business and to make some new friends! I'd like to know about your dogs personality and their well being. How they are in a new environment since I'd want their stay to be as comfortable as possible for them and for my pets as well. I'd like to know if they ever been around any other pets before. If they get along with other dogs and cats. If they will try to eat poop (I have an open litter box for my 2 cats) If they are up to date on shots/flea meds etc. Have any medical history I should be aware of. Are they sick? Do they pee in the house? I understand accidents happen but since I live in an apartment, I'd prefer pets who are potty trained (if sick, a puppy or senior dog - accidents are understandable). I also live on the 3rd floor in my apartment, would that be a problem for your dog to walk up and down the stairs? Are they trained and know any tricks? I'd love to know so I can reward them with treats! What is their schedule like? How many times a day do they eat or go to the bathroom? Do they pull when you walk them? Do they go to the bathroom on the sidewalk? - I'm asking this because my dog only likes to go where there are trees/grass/dirt. Do they have a tendency to chew up things? Are they crate trained? I'd love to know everything about your furbaby to be able to work with them and give them the best experience possibly, and for you to have a peace of mind while you are away. This will all be better understanding for me and for you to get an idea how your furbaby will do! My number one priority is to make sure they feel at home!
