Crème de la Crème in Pet Snuggling!

Pet care experience

I didn’t get the nickname “Mama Kayla” when I was little for no good reason! As a young kid I spent a lot of my time taking care of the pets in my home. Dogs, cats, fish, a turtle, hamsters… you name it and I either raised it or rescued it. (Much to my father’s dismay!) Through the years, caring for animals is a trait that has stuck with me; I’m a lifelong animal lover. I love how each dog has such a distinct personality. I have two of my own, Finn, my overly affectionate Springer Spaniel, and Cali, my little crazy mixed monster. I’ve grown up with dogs but never have I seen such distinctly different dog personalities until I found my two. I’ve spent years working on different behavioral matters between the two. Finn, though the best cuddler around, has separation anxiety and a strange fear of men in hats. According to the Humane Society, Cali was supposed to be a half lab, half shepherd mix that would grow to around 75 lbs. …She stopped growing around 30 lbs. and made up for it with an over abundance of energy. She’s my crazy baby who likes to play all day and bark at people, squirrels, the washer, skateboards, things moving too fast, snowflakes……. And the list goes on! To learn how to help my fur children with some of their issues, I’ve spent years reading books, watching documentaries, consulting with dog trainers. I am happy to say we are all happy as clams… except for when to squirrels come out! Anyway, I put a lot of effort into understanding dogs so that I can help them put their minds at ease. Dogs bring me such joy that helping them have the most fun, safe, loving and stress free life is the absolute least I can do! Having boarded my pets in the past, I understand the concern that an owner can feel when trying to decide the best place or person to take care of their animals. Let me assure you, your pet will be a welcome addition to my pack and treated just like one of my own! I am happy to provide updates to keep your mind at ease… and so you can share in all of the fun we will no doubt be having! To ensure the perfect fit, I would be happy to meet with you and your fur baby before booking. I have a flexible schedule with a lot of open time to ensure availability for potty breaks or drop ins. I conveniently live right next to the Oak Leaf Bike Trail and my pups and I are well versed with all the great puppy break areas around! Don’t hesitate to get in touch with any questions! I look forward to meeting your four legged friend! Until then, I’ll still be the one at the party hanging out with the puppies on the floor instead… ;)

Information Kayla B. would like to know about your pet

Prior to overnight stays I would love to have a short meeting with you and your dog to go over details. Discussing things like personality traits, behaviors, and preferences (i.e. kennel, etc.) is important to me. The safety of your pet is the most important thing to me! The more I know, the better the experience will be for all of us!

A typical day

Just down the street from my house is Hubbard Park with a convenient connection to the Oak Leaf Bike Trail. I love to take walks along the trail and into Estabrook Park. I live just a walk away from the local dog park, should that be something that your dog is comfortable with and enjoys.
