Pet care experience
Hi there! My name is Kaya. I currently work as a Animal Care Assistant at a shelter in the Seattle area and am passionate about animals! Every day I spend time working with the dogs at the shelter to provide quality care, enrichment, exercise, and love! I am trained in dog handling and behavior so I can better understand the dogs I interact with. No dog is too big or small for me! And no dog is too shy or energetic either! Beyond shelter experience I also have years of dog sitting exprience, and I grew up with three dogs in my house at almost all times! I love meeting dogs with all different types of personalities and figuring out what makes them the happiest. I hope your dog and I can become friends soon!

I always like to know if there is anything that makes the dog uncomfortable. Some dogs are sensitive to certain kinds of handling and that’s always important to note. I also like to be aware if a dog is reactive so I can avoid any unwanted interactions with people, children, or other animals.
A typical day
I love to walk dogs through parks and trails, not only do they get great socializing that way but it’s always nice to get a change of scenery. I also love to run dogs if they have lots of energy!
