Pet care experience
I've been around animals my whole life, and I'm here to share the love I know pet parents have. My family always had dogs and cats in the house before I was even born, so it was only natural for me to grow up loving all sorts of animals. I've been pet sitting since I was a young teen, starting with family and friends. While I currently can't house large pets of my own, I do keep seven Guinea Pigs, a few Ball Pythons, a Crested Gecko, a couple Budgies, a Nanday Conure, and a 75 gallon planted freshwater aquarium. Additionally, I've had experience with mice, rats, rabbits, ferrets, small parrots, geckos, and tortoises. I also volunteer weekly at my local Guinea Pig and Small Animal Rescue, doing chores revolving around feeding, cleaning, grooming, and general health checks. I don't have any professional vetinary experience, but I've helped pets in all stages of life. I've even had experience with some special needs pets, so I'm able to handle different care needs including medications. I've been using Rover as a tool for a little over three years now.
Reviews
Thank you Kay!
Kay always does a great job visiting our cats. She makes sure they have food and water and get a lot of attention. I'm so thankful that she was willing to help out over the holiday!
Kay goes above and beyond to take care of our cat while out of town. Would highly recommend her to anyone!
Kay was a great sitter for our rabbit, Myrtle. She spent lots of time with her and updated us the whole way through. I wouldn't hesitate to hire Kay again!

I cannot keep your friends in my home at this time, as I care for many prey animals and live in a restricted space. However, I am happy to visit or stay in your home to keep them company. I typically have a mellow energy, but am happy to meet their enthusiasm and playfulness. Long hikes and tug wars aren't out of the question, but they'd probably beat me in race. If there's any special treatment they need, I'm here to work out the best way to make that happen.
Information Kay M. would like to know about your pet
Ahead of time, I typically need to know about their general behavior and activity level, their attitude towards strangers or other animals, any special requirements (e.g. medications, extra breaks) and relevant health information (e.g. current injuries, heart issues, digestive issues, loss of hearing/eyesight). Additonal information like their favorite toys and games, or where they like to hang out is also helpful. I will definitely ask for emergency vet and contact information, as I want to be prepared for unexpected scenarios.
A typical day
Whatever games your pups like to play, I'm pretty adaptable and like to leave the choice up to them. I'm no stranger to tug or tag, and I love playing enrichment games where I can fit them in. My go to for that is hiding treats in weird places for them to sniff out.

Availability
Due to current circumstances, I am unable to accept regularly scheduled indefinite care requests. I am still able to accept temporary requests (e.g. for work trips and vacations, schedule adjustments, life events.) Though I try to be timely, please consider scheduled times as approximate, as it can be difficult to be strict with time management involving animals. I am available afternoons, evenings, and late nights. I am able to make exceptions for mornings where necessary, such as full time house sitting. I also assisst some of my family with their health needs, so during long stays, I will need to leave for a few hours every 1-2 days.
