Hello! I’m Katy and Walter the dog’s mom. With over a decade of experience in pet care, I go the extra mile to make sure your dog is treated like I treat my own (I refer to him as my son). Past clients have referred to me as a dog whisperer. In 2020, I started my own dog walking biz called “Walter And Friends” while living in Atlanta. I gained experience with every breed imaginable - from Pomeranians to labs to pitts to goldens to corgis - you name it. I rescued Walter 8 years ago and volunteer at the ASPCA when I have time. I studied Communication and Theater at Northwestern University and do this work not just for money but because of the incredible healing power dogs have given me. I became very close to my families I worked for in Atlanta and now that I’m back in LA, I can’t wait to build up my clientele again. I cater to your dogs needs, whether they need leash training reinforcement, a slow stroll in the sunshine, or want to socialize at a dog park or even hike at Runyon. Katy is wonderful!! She watched my two dogs and my brother’s two dogs without any incident for five days! Our dogs ranged from 30 pounds to over 100 pounds and she took it all in stride and was an amazing dog and home sitter. She sent many pictures, kept us updated, and was super communicative any time our plans changed. She’s thoughtful, skilled, and responsive. We felt really comfortable on our trip even though this was our first time leaving both dogs and our first time having a sitter in our home. She was respectful of our space and even vacuumed when she left which was absolutely not expected. 10/10 highly recommend!
Katy is amazing!! She was great with my kitten who I had to leave behind for a few days and was sure to make me at ease with all her photos and videos. She actually spent time with my kitten and takes her responsibilities seriously. I have had sitters who do the bare minimum but Katy goes above and beyond! All instructions were followed and I came back to a happy kitten.

Katy was amazing! She knew exactly how to handle T-Rex who is is slightly anxious around new people/new areas. T-Rex loved her the moment we met her which put me at ease. She also sent multiple pictures and also took T-Rex out for multiple walks even in the rain, thank you Katy! I would definitely trust her with T-Rex again and highly recommend her to anyone who is looking for someone friendly, caring, and professional.

I have been background checked through Rover’s screening process and can provide countless references. If I housesit, I make sure to respect your privacy by taking only hanging out in common areas and typically bring a laptop to do creative work etc. if you are out of town, I send daily updates and adhere to your rules. I’m a professional at this and am comfortable if you have cameras in the house, need me to work your alarm system and safeguard your keys, bring in mail, tidy, and give extra love to your dog. I’m great with dogs with separation anxiety and I have a lot of energy and love to walk and be outside so typically an owner will mention how content and calm they are after hanging with me. I have a very upbeat but zen personality and I take the work seriously!

I like to know their quirks ahead of time. Are they leash aggressive? Do they try to chase skateboarders like Walter? (I always use a ninja tight grip when walking). Are you training them not to jump, etc so that I can reinforce it for consistency while you’re gone? Do they chew cords or are destructive so I know to pick things up and place above their reach? Are they allergic to any specific types of treats if I bring training treats on walks? Basic questions :)
A typical day
Kong toys with peanut butter, treat puzzles, hikes at Runyon or Griffith, neighborhood walks (I try to avoid busy streets because drivers in LA are insane). I love going to dog parks (Walter likes the Silverlake one) and even have a spot near Malibu I take Walter to if you have a dog who enjoys the beach.

I’m currently working remotely part time and have a lot of flexibility at the moment. I am looking to expand my clientele. I worked regularly for over 30 families in Atlanta during Covid so I am ready to get to work!
