Pet care experience
I love dogs and have been volunteering with several NYC area rescue organizations since 2016. I would love to help watch your pet while you're at work or if you're planning to go away for a few days. I love puppies and have experience with small dogs. Sad to be away from your animal for the first time? I will be able to provide you with constant updates and photos/videos of your pet! *Safety is always my first priority, and I will walk your dog with his/her own leash in addition to a separate dog lead. I have been trained as a general dog handler by Best Friends Animal Society and other rescues. Send me a message if you would like to set up a meet and greet. I'm happy to help whenever I can! I'm a stay at home mom and we are hardly out of the home for over 4 hours at a time. I will care for your pet as my own, and offer multiple potty breaks, plently of playtime, and will watch your pet via puppycam whenever I need to step out. Our home is set up with multiple baby gates, and barriers to doors / stairs / and yard. Safety is absolutely my first priority and we have everything childproofed at home. When on walks, I will always use a secondary dog lead for extra safety.

Katy has pet sit for our dog Perry (Shih Tzu) countless times for the past 10 years. She is very responsible and sure know how to take good care of dogs. I must say she does a better job taking care of Perry than us, the owners.
I entrusted Katy multiple times to watch all three of my dogs in my home. Not only was one of them just a puppy, but another one of them was a recently adopted rescue who had an extreme fear of people. Katy went above and beyond to make sure she kept my dogs happy and safe, catering to each of their needs. I also know that Katy has been deeply involved in dog-rescue for nearly ten years, so her commitment to responsible dog care and welfare is as serious as it can get.

If your dog is on a special diet, please provide all treats/food, and let me know if there are any dietary allergies. I am not experienced with behavioral issues and would not be comfortable handling anything beyond puppy behaviors. Thanks!
A typical day
I love enrichment activities, and can provide fun games like puzzle feeders and enrichment boxes. We live in a suburban neighborhood with several parks nearby so there's always somewhere fun to walk. If your pup is too young to go on walks, we have lots of fun things to do at home as well!
