Hi there! My name is Katryn. I have lived in the Fairmount/Spring Garden section of the city for over 11 years. During the week, I work full-time as a hospice social worker with some degree of flexibility in my schedule (details below). I have been offering pet care for years, mostly word of mouth, and reinstated my Rover profile late June 2023. I strongly believe pets are family and deserve the best. My cat's name is Agyness - she is a beautiful and sassy senior Maine Coon who is my everything. 💕 I have experience caring for both dogs and cats, as well as special needs, senior, and sick animals. I am adept at administering oral meds and well versed in caring for pets with anxiety and reactivity. Regardless of age, health, or breed-past clients have appreciated the love, soothing presence, and care I've provided to their pets- along with my attention to detail and communication -providing reassurance that their fur babies are in good hands. **If your cat or dog is much more at ease in their home environment vs. a new location or kennel when you are away, I would love to support. Here to help alleviate this stressor and provide your furry family member with more of a regular routine. I've lost count of how many days Katryn has stayed with Poppy at this point but she is basically an auntie now. In addition to Poppy's intermittent anxiety, Katryn had to deal with my smoke alarm going off AND early NYE fireworks. She handled all with grace and communicated the right amount. She didn't bug me but knew when I would want to be looped in on the particularly 'exciting' events that took place during her stay. And as usual , the house was incredibly clean when I came home. It even smelled like fresh cookies? Is this real life. Book Katryn...just not when I want to!
Katryn is so lovely! She understands our fur babies and their special needs. She spends quality time and captures great photos of them. We're so glad to have found her!
Katryn did a great job checking in on our cats while we were out of town for a few days. She was a great communicator and appreciated the level of care she provided our cats! Would recommend!
Katryn was great and very communicative about everything going on. We had some hiccups (nothing caused by her) and she handled everything smoothly. I never doubted that my cat was in good hands.

Are there any behavioral issues or triggers that I should be aware of? Any food allergies? Does your pet have a favorite toy? Are they allowed treats? Is your pet allowed on furniture? How long of walks does your dog prefer? Any places to avoid? Any house considerations to be aware of?
A typical day
FOR DOGS: I am happy to bring your pup to a local park or dog park if this is a good fit. Especially on the weekend, I love supporting extra long walks to locations they may not get to everyday, like a local farmers market or trail. Alternatively, if a quicker neighborhood stroll with more chill time and cuddles is a better fit, 100% here for that too. Really, I just want to get a sense from you - the owner - what your dog's preferences / needs are and accommodate these wishes to maintain a happy and healthy routine. You know your dog best. FOR CATS: You know your cat best so open to feedback. Will meet your cat where they are in the interaction, providing calm and easygoing presence for them to know early on I am a lifelong diehard cat lover/ they can feel safe with me. Happy to play, cuddle, or hang from a distance depending upon their comfort level and disposition.

HOW ROVER FITS INTO MY FULL TIME WORK SCHEDULE: M-F I start/end my day WFH and am typically out & about for 4-6 hrs during the daytime (usually late morning until late afternoon, e.g. 11 am - 4 pm, then rest of workday spent charting/making calls from home) Weekends typically more open. For house sitting: Your place will act as my “temporary home away from home.” Regardless of day of the week, I will always spend the night and be there to take care of the morning/evening routine, along with other daily needs such as meals, meds, walks/potty breaks (typically am, mid-morning or late am, early evening, and before bed for dogs), litter scoop or change for cats, play, cuddles, chill time with a human in the room, and whatever else is needed for a happy & healthy routine.
