Pet care experience
Having been a pet owner for most of my life, I understand what it means to be responsible for an animal. I am very nurturing towards animals, so much so that I have been a vegetarian for years. I am an artist and I work from my home studio located on a very quiet street in the Skyline Acres area. My home has a fenced backyard that dogs absolutely love. I enjoy hosting dogs in my home because it allows me to engage with my love of dogs while doing my regular work from my studio during the day. Dogs are just so sweet and purely good, I love having that energy around me! I love to go on walks and enjoy the fresh air. My fenced backyard is a bonus and allows for many playtime breaks in between walks. Having a regular pup around to look after brings cheer to my day. My husband is a teacher and helps out with dog sitting duties on the weekends. I often do daycare during the day, though most of my bookings are multiple days including overnights. In the past, I have had several long-term regulars and enjoy the extra bonding that occurs during these bookings. I also like cats, and would consider doing house calls to check on your cat if the distance wasn't too far from me. I would like to know the energy level of the dog. If it's a weekday, I will be doing work (in my home studio) throughout the day, so the best fit would be a dog who doesn't need entertainment every minute of the day. I don't mind the breed because I have known lots of dogs and almost all of them are sweethearts no matter their breed.
A typical day
There are many quiet tree-lined streets in my neighbourhood, which are fun to walk through with a dog. I am located quite close to Cambridge Crescent Park and Reading Street Park, which are great walking spots. Your dog would enjoy plenty of off-lease time in my fenced-in backyard that has lots of shade. During the summer, I often bring my work outside to the back deck and the dogs enjoy lounging on the grass for hours. There is a lot of playtime back there with fetch and keep-away and other toys to enjoy. Every now and then, I take a dog on field trips to Killarney Lake if I think they would behave. I am very careful with dogs in my care interacting with other dogs and usually try to avoid it to prevent any unwanted incidents. For this reason, I only take one dog at a time, unless there two dogs from the same household.

I am a freelancer and work from home. My schedule is almost always flexible and often revolves around dogsitting duties. I like having a dog around to give me an excuse to go outside for fresh air and nature therapy!
