I have been an animal person since I was a young child, and can honestly say I enjoy my interactions with animals, more than with people. I had many different types of pets as a child, but never had a dog until I was 19. My first dog (rescue) was antisocial, and couldn't even see another dog without going ballistic. This also triggered his other health complication - his epilepsy. Having such a challenging dog opened up my heart to animals on a whole other level. It made me want to help animals in need, and not to give up on the animals that may have more complex personalities or health conditions. Sadly we lost our sweet Hamish 2 years ago. My love for him though is a core part of who I am, and why I rescue and foster dogs now. I want to continue making him proud, and love all my time spent with animals, no matter how well trained or challenging! My empathy and love for dogs makes me an ideal candidate to take care of your pets!
