Last summer I was an assistant manager at a boarding kennel, where I was responsible for feeding, cleaning, and playtimes with dogs and cats alike. I grew up with several dogs and a cat, and so I am accustomed to having them around and keeping to feeding and walking schedules. Additionally, my aunt is a professional handler for AKC dog shows and I spent many summers as a kid traveling and working with her at shows.

I’m so glad to have found Katie. She’s very sweet and communicative and clearly loves animals. She sent pictures and checked in immediately when an issue came up. She’s on a beautiful plot with lots of room for a dog to explore and be happy. My pets are very needy and spoiled :), and I absolutely believe they felt well taken care of. I look forward to hiring Katie again!
Katie was amazing. She was professional and attentive to our dog. She was also responsive to any of our dog’s particular needs and was quick to answer questions. We will use her again!

I live in a fully air conditioned home, with a large backyard and several acres of trails in the woods for walks. My dad and his girlfriend will also be around most days and they both adore dogs and will love to spend some extra time with your pets, as we do not currently have any of our own.

Please let me know if your dog has any special care needs, dietary restrictions, or medications so I can accommodate them to the best of my ability. I ask that owners bring a blanket/bed and some toys from home to make their stay more comfortable, and please let me know their favorite toys and games!
A typical day
In addition to exploring our private property adjoining the Bluestone Wild Forest, I often take dogs to the Thorn Preserve, Onteora Lake, or the new Ashokan Rail Trail for walks and some socializing!

Availability
I am currently working towards my masters degree and substitute teaching. When studying from home I have a lot of flexibility and can be available to walk or play with your dog at any time of day! But since weekdays can be busy for me, my walking schedule can be limited between 8-4 Monday-Friday.
