Pet care experience
After a full Marine Corps career recently wrapped up in North Carolina, my family and I moved to Missouri and have begun putting down our roots. I have maintained my CPR and First Aid certifications for 4 years, am privately insured and bonded. My personal pack of pups are older, so I have a significant amount of experience with seniors, to include administering medication and special physical needs, but also have cared for senior kitties, puppies, kittens, and a variety of small caged animals. In the time that we've been in Cass County, I've cared for pigs, horses, chickens, and ducks, but am willing to be taught how to care for most any animal that the owner is willing to take time to show me how to do. I am am member of the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters and Pet Sitters International. I am experienced in knowing and recognizing the signs of stress in cats and dogs, and their body language, and strive to maintain continuing education about the animals I take care of through online courses, in person courses, and personally guided studies.

Very communicative and safety-conscious. We have a diva cat who requires medication and somehow they got off the wrong foot so there were difficulties there. He's super particular about people though so this isn't entirely unexpected. She did her absolute best though and kept me informed. Very diligent about checking litter boxes/water - observed our kitties behavior closely and checked in to make sure drinking habits weren't abnormal. She also let me know when there was low battery issue with our CO monitor which I appreciated. Very grateful to have someone able and willing to come over the holidays!

I feel 100% safe leaving my fur kids in Katie’s care. She has been so accommodating with my dog’s sometimes quirky personalities. Like we do as moms, she rolls with whatever is going on and never complains. If I didn’t have Katie I would miss a lot of life because I wouldn’t leave them without this trust level. Thanks Katie!!!
We love having Katie walk our Elsa girl (a golden retriever), while my husband and I are working long hours. It takes so much stress off knowing someone takes such good care of her and reports back to us how she is doing! She gives very thorough reports and not only lets Elsa out to go to the bathroom but also plays and snuggles with her! Elsa gets so excited to see her. She is very professional and communicates timely and thoroughly. We are so grateful for katie, we have never even tried to use anyone else!!!

The more information you can give me about your pets, the better, so that I can make them as comfortable as possible with our visits. Before a booking begins, I'll set up an emergency plan with you so you can take comfort in knowing your pets are in good hands. With each visit, I send several pictures and a detailed card so you know exactly how our visit(s) went. I carry a First Aid kit with me to each visit and am able to take care of any small issues that may arise. For house sitting, I have a questionnaire that needs to be completed before our first meeting, and am always happy to answer any questions that may come from it. When you leave your pets in my care, I want you to be confident in knowing that I've done everything possible to care for them to the best of my abilities.

I do require proof of a current rabies vaccination for my safety with every new pet. Even with play time, accidental injuries are a possibility.
A typical day
I like to get to know your pup as well as I know my own, so if your pup likes walks, playing tug, fetch, or any other activities, I can be sure to keep them happy during our visit. If your pup is a snuggle bug, we can do that too.

Availability
My pet care business, both personal and through Rover, is my full time job as clients make requests of me. I am available for regular visits in your home for potty breaks, meals, administering medication, and/or walks around your neighborhood. I am also available for house sitting in your home. My house sitting services are dedicated care from 8p to 8a, with one half-hour midday visit. Additional visits can be scheduled if needed as regular drop in visits. I am available for more constant care on a case by case basis that can be discussed at the time the dates are submitted.
