Pet care experience
We're a family that loves pets - we have kids and cats, and only watch one dog at a time. When our old dog Norman passed away we weren't ready to get another dog. We started dog-watching on Rover and found it works really well for our family. Our kids and cats are pretty dog-savvy at this point. We understand the needs and temperaments of different breeds, particularly older (or very old!) hounds. Our availability is best on weekends, when we would be able to give your dog multiple walks per day and let them into the yard as needed.

Katie was very helpful with Cocoa and sent pictures through the stay. It seemed like Cocoa very comfortable throughout his stay with Katie and her family, and I plan to continue to ask Katie for help as long as she has avalaibility.
Katie and her family took care of our Labradoodle Ebbett over the Thanksgiving holiday for six nights. My communications with Katie leading up to and during the stay couldn’t have been better. I did a house visit a few days after we connected and immediately knew Ebbett would be comfortable there. They have two small children dog lovers, a clean, comfortable home and a giant backyard. On Thanksgiving Ebbett also got to enjoy a trip to a farm. Couldn’t have asked for anything more, and I will definitely ask Katie and her family to look after Ebbett again.

We have a great yard for dog-watching. Your pup can enjoy close to half an acre, fully fenced. We also have a casual house, where dogs are allowed on furniture, etc.

Our cats and kids have been around a lot of dogs, so they're pretty comfortable with a wide variety. We have bunnies and chickens in pens outdoors. I would just want to know that your dog has been around cats and kids and won't be stressed out by them, or overly activated by the chickens and bunnies.
A typical day
We spend a lot of time in our yard and neighborhood on the weekends and in the evenings, so your dog would too. Gardening, eating out back, taking walks with the kids, etc.

We are (usually) out of the house during the week for 6 to 8 hours a day. We are home all weekend. There's lots of time before and after the workday for exercise, long walk, and attention.
