Please check out my reviews, I have been so fortunate to meet some amazing dogs (and people!) during my time on Rover.com. I am a dog fanatic... seriously. I don't know that I've ever met anyone who loves dogs as much as I do. I live in a 3 bedroom, 2 bath home in East Sacramento, not far from East Portal Park and McKinley Park. I do not have any human roommates, but I do have two elderly dogs and a younger foster-failure. They are 16, 11 and 2 years old, respectively. All three are very mellow and good with other dogs. I try to make your dog's experience at my home as similar to yours as possible. If your pup is accustomed to sleeping in bed with you, or lounging on the couch, that's okay with me. About this sitter: Hi! My name is Katie. I rececently completed my MBA at UC Davis. My undergraduate degree is in Animal Science and Management, also from UCD. I LOVE dogs, all breeds, shapes and sizes. I have experience with obedience training and behavior modification. I am also happy to dog-walk (or run) if your pup needs some exercise. Since I have three dogs of my own, I prefer to dog-sit in my own home. When booking the stay, please be sure to let me know if your dog has any special needs or behaviors I should be aware of (medications, aggression towards other dogs, separation anxiety, needing to be in a crate when unattended, etc.) -B.S. Growing up I never had dogs (so sad!) because both my mom and my brother are very allergic to anything with fur. Nonetheless, I probably asked for a dog for Christmas and my birthday every year until I went to college. While in college I adopted a puppy named Layla. She was a wonderful dog. Meet my pets I have a horse named Paxley. As much as I'd love to keep him at home, I'm not sure my neighbors would approve... I keep him out in Davis. About my yard I do have a good sized backyard that is all grass. My experience administering medication Yes. During my time volunteering at the Humane Society I regularly administered medication to dogs and cats. I also did this during my animal behavior internship in college.

Katie and her 2yr old pup Mr Magoo were the best babysitters I could have ever hoped for, and let me tell you they did not have it easy. Unfortunately due to an poorly timed business trip I needed to find a place for my 4month old GSP, Banjo. Katie was wonderfully and eased my nervousness of leaving him for the first time by sending me pictures throughout the weekend. And Mr Magoo was the picture of tolerance and by the end of the weekend the two seem to be the best of buds. I would definitely say Katie is a gem and I would recommend her to everyone
Katie did a good job for me. She sent me a short video once a day via text msg. Dogs were happy and did not seem stressed when I returned from a 5 day trip. She checked in and out with the Rover app. I would have preferred a short video each visit instead of just the once daily since I had never used the service before. There really isn't any other way to know for certain the folks from rover are on site at a specific time so a quick 10sec video would be a great add for each visit on the app. I would use Rober and Katie again if needed.
Katie is sweet, she helps our nervous pup feel at home.

I love all dogs and am a firm believer in nurture over nature. I would of course like to know of any medical or dietary issues in advance so that I can be prepared in the event of an emergency. It is also good to know how your dog is around other dogs so that I know whether or not trips to the dog park would be feasible. If your dog cannot be left unsupervised inside the house unless in a crate, please let me know and be sure to bring the crate with you when you drop him/her off at my house. I appreciate being informed of any 'bad' habits the dog may have (chewing, jumping up on counters, getting on the furniture) ahead of time so that I can prepare accordingly. Lastly, I prefer to sit medium sized or larger dogs. One of my two dogs likes to play and I worry about her playing too rough with small breeds.

Here's where we'll take our walks I love taking walks around McKinley Park and through the Fab 40s. I also enjoy going to the dog park if your pup likes to go. Your dog's sleeping arrangement If your pup is accustomed to sleeping in bed with you, then he/she is more than welcome to snuggle up with me. I want to make your dog feel as at home as possible. Time I'll spend with your dog As much as possible! Time I'll spend with your dog As much as possible! Love taking dogs with me everywhere I go if they are amenable to it.
