Pet care experience
Experienced owner of reactive cats and large dogs! I currently share four cats with my partner, including Sally and Estelle, who were both reactive FIV+ cats that had sat in the shelter for about 2 years due to their behavior, and are now both snuggle bugs with years of patience and love. I also grew up with a 100+ lb boxer mix and have owned fish and cared for cats, dogs, fish, small mammals, and birds. I am experienced with providing oral medication and would be comfortable learning most medical and behavioral needs for your pet.

Katie did an amazing job with their daily drop-ins for my two kittens! At the time of their visit my kittens were still quite young, and Katie was able to expertly handle all of their special needs! Katie also went above and beyond to help with cleaning up some messes the kitties left, and by helping to fix an issue with the outside of the house caused by a storm (without being asked!) I will definitely be a repeat customer!!!
Katie was wonderful with our dogs! She was so responsive and sent plenty of pictures and updates. Even during the rainy days she made sure they stuck to their schedule and had a blast. Would highly recommend Katie to care for your animals!
Katie is great! Our fur babies absolutely love her and get so excited when I say “Wanna see Auntie Katie?” She loves on the kiddos like they were her own, so I trust her wholeheartedly to take care of them very well.

Due to my own brood of cats I cannot offer in-home services. I am experienced in house and animal sitting for friends and family. One of my best traits as a sitter is my best trait as a therapist- the ability to meet folks where they are at. If you are nervous about leaving your furry friend with someone new I am happy to meet with you first or get on the phone for a free consult! I am also very respectful of animal cues and will never force your pet to snuggle and play if they are person-warry (as much as I want to!) I am very aware of key indicators of pet distress and health issues and will take the time to understand your pet's behaviors and individual needs. I have regularly had to assess my own pets to see if they need emergency care, but also am not a professional and will never make assumptions when it comes to your pet's safety and health. If I am not able to reach you if something of concern comes up, I have a flexible schedule and will make sure your pet gets the care it needs as soon as possible if an emergency comes up.

I will always do my research when it comes to individual breed needs. I have a basic understanding of activity level and mental stimulation needs for most dog breeds. I will always review with you what your dog's specific commands are, what kind of leash/collar/harness they use, and what their specific feeding and bodily function schedules are.
A typical day
I love the outdoors and worked for many years at a girl scout camp! I am new to the area but always love to find new trails. I am also happy to provide stimulation for your pet in your home if that is where they are most comfortable.
