My dog was the goodest, sweetest boy ever. I had him for 15 fantastic years, and even trained him to "achoo" and "shake it off" (shake his body as if he were getting rid of water in his fur) on command at age 12! Turns out that successful training is all about consistency, trust, and positive reinforcement. Growing up, my parents' friends would have me take care of their pets, which I absolutely loved. Even into my adulthood, my friends are still entrusting me to take care of their pups while they're away, and I've been told they have a great time at "summer camp" with Auntie Katie. If they're good with other dogs, I love taking them to dog parks to play with their new doggo friends, and if they're not good with other dogs, I'll take them on walks around my neighborhood. Doggos are such amazing animals. Their capacity for love and playfulness is something we can all learn from! I'm looking forward to hosting your cute furball while you're away and showering them with all the love and care we know they deserve. I work full time Tuesday thru Saturday, so I can host your pupper overnight starting Saturday nights and going thru Monday evenings. I have a varying schedule throughout my work week, but as long as your pupper is okay being alone in the house with a dog door while I'm away during the day (and doesn't like destroying furniture!), I'm more than happy to host your doggo overnight for longer than just my weekend days. My yard is fenced in, and I have a large dog door that fits dogs up to probably 85lbs (10.25 x 16 inches). I've taught my friends' dogs to go thru this successfully before! I don't have a crate, but I've got plenty of space to set yours up if needed, as well as space for dog beds. Dogs are welcome on the furniture even if they're major shedders, as long as they don't possess a demonic desire to free all of the fluff from my cushions! My floors are mostly hardwood with area rugs. If you have an older dog with traction issues, I can also put down more rug walkways to make them more comfy! My house is a single level, with stairs leading up to the front door. If your pup has mobility issues, I can also have them walk up my sloped driveway to access the house from the back door, or, I can carry your pup up the stairs (with their consent of course!) as long as they're under 45/50lbs. I can let dogs sleep on the bed with me or not, depending on what we all want to do.
