Pet care experience
I am currently an emergency licensed veterinary technician and I love to surround myself with animals as much as possible! I have a Doberman/lab mix of my own who is high energy, so I know exactly how to accommodate for young, energetic dogs! I have experience from a boarding/daycare facility for 6 years so I have a lot of experience with animal handling, animal care, and interactive playtime! On top of that experience, I have completed a rigorous two-year veterinary technician program. Over the past years, I have completed two internships at emergency and specialty practices. With that being said, I am properly trained (and comfortable) with giving medications/injections if your pet(s) require them. With my school experience, as well as my internship/work experience, I am aware of what needs to be done if an emergency situation arises. I work full-time (40 hours, four 10-hour shifts) throughout the week so those days do limit my availability but I am willing to work around them if possible! My work days are Monday’s, Tuesday’s, Friday’s, and Saturday’s weekly.

Great again! Accommodated our Lola for some last minute check ins! Very much appreciated!
Katie was absolutely amazing! She went above and beyond and made us feel so comfortable with leaving our Lola with her. This was our first trip away leaving Lola in someone else’s care and upon meeting we knew right away we made the right decision with her! Definitely recommend and will use her for our future trips!
Katie is absolutely great and we can’t wait to have her watch our pups again! She made things easy for us to make a day trip with out having to worry about our dogs! Definitely feel at ease with her coming over and taking care of your pups!
Katie was great! She kept us well informed before and after her walk with our dog, even sending pictures and a note of her visit. Will definitely have her walk him again in the future when needed.

Before sitting for a dog, I prefer to schedule a meet-and-greet prior to booking to make sure that the dog is a good fit for myself. Of course I would like to be informed of whether the dog has any history of medical issues, medications that need to be given, or any other special requests from the owner. I want to keep your dog and YOU comfortable while watching them! Therefore, let me know what they enjoy doing. Do they like going for walks or playing fetch? Are they more laid back and prefer cuddling up on the couch? All in all, I am concerned with what your dog is accustomed to on a daily basis so that I can provide them with the best care for you while keeping them in their comfort zone! I do not have any breed preferences. Due to my past, and current, work experience, I have become comfortable around all sizes and breeds of dogs.
A typical day
I love being physically active and outside enjoying good weather (as long as Michigan decides to cooperate which doesn't happen as much as we would like it to). I am used to taking my own dog for 20-30 minute walks or playing fetch, so if that's what your dog likes/needs on a daily basis, I would enjoy doing it! If your dog is more of the laid back type, I don't mind lounging around either :)
