Pet care experience
My name is Katie. I was born and raised in Tucson, AZ. This past May, I graduated Magna Cum Laude with Honors from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor's of Science in Veterinary Science and a minor in Biochemistry. I will be attending Texas A&M for veterinary school starting this fall. I have worked as a small animal emergency veterinary technician since I was 15 years old. I also have extensive experience with farm animals and horses. I have been riding horses since I was 7 years old and still ride and compete. Through my 7 years of emergency veterinary experience, I have been trained to work with dogs and cats of all shapes and sizes and personality types. All throughout my career, I have house-sat/dog-sat for families across Tucson and I am extremely excited to find new pets and owners that I can work with! I am able to attend to animals with medical needs, as well, due to the breadth of my veterinary medical knowledge.

We have used Katie many times to watch our dogs and have always been impressed with how responsible she is and how well she does with our dogs. We have always felt comfortable leaving our dogs in her care and would not hesitate to use her again.
Last summer we had Katie stay at our home and care for our Havanese puppy. Our puppy was 6 months old and we were very concerned about leaving her for a week. Katie was wonderful! She has worked with many Veterinarians and has a lot of experience with animals. In fact, she is accepted to Veterinarian School in the fall. She provided a lot of playtime (sending us photos and video each day), as well as grooming her for us. We could tell Coco really enjoyed her week with Katie! Another note, our home was kept immaculate...we will definitely have Katie come again!
We have known Katie for 8 years. We have witnessed her commitment to her own pets (which included 2 horses) and her hard work for professional vets; caring for a variety of animals since 14-1/2 years old. Katie is a dog lover as evidenced in the care of her “pack” of 3 Aussies and 1 Siberian Husky. Katie has a natural rapport with dogs and our Corgi thinks she is his girlfriend. She has cared for our almost 16 year old yellow Labrador with our Corgi and we are never concerned with their safety or quality of care when She is with them. Katie has a strong sense of purpose in her care of animals and responsibility toward the pet parents.
Katie is an upbeat, reliable and capable dog sitter. She's a great communicator and really cares about your pet. Her vet training is a plus!

A typical day
I always find it important to discuss what the pet normally does with their owner on a day-to-day basis. It is stressful enough for them when their owner is gone and it is imperative to not drastically alter their routine. I am able to accommodate anything the owner would like me to do activity-wise with their pet.
