Pet care experience
Hi, I’m Katie! Since a child, I have always had a huge heart for animals. Some call me a crazy dog lady, but that’s because I care so deeply about advocacy for shelter pets and proper pet care. Before leaving Louisiana in 2022, I ran the adoption events at my local animal shelter in Shreveport, LA for over 4 years. Over the past 5 years, I have fostered over 300 dogs and have helped save thousands of animals through fundraising for a local 501c3 rescue in Louisiana in which I am now the secretary of. I have assisted in hundreds of animal transports and heavily advocated for proper animal care and pet adoption for a very long time. I’ve been dog-sitting, walking dogs, and doing drop-in visits for about a year now and love it. I even have experience cat-sitting and watching birds. Volunteering at the shelter is something I truly love and do often. From helping clean kennels, to behavioral testing, I have done it all which has grown my experience greatly. I truly love animals and Rover has been a great outlet for me to enjoy!

Please let me know of any special needs your dog may need in terms of diet, special care, and any allergies. I can assure you that I will follow them strictly. A basic routine is always great to know such as their feeding schedule and an emergency contact number.
A typical day
Living close to the riverfront, we always have a long path to walk and enjoy the day. I have a large, fenced in backyard that the dogs love to play in and tons of chew toys to choose from. I give all the belly rubs and attention I can give.

Availability
My husband and I moved here from Albuquerque in September and I work remotely. I have free time during the day and wish to spend my free time with my four-legged friends. Working from home, I am able to give potty breaks as often as needed, monitor your pets and give them lots of attention.
