Pet care experience
Hello! I'm Katie, the owner of my own biotech company, which gives me the flexibility to work from home most of the time. Occasionally, I have to head downtown to the engineering firm. I've been around dogs since I was born, thanks to my grandparents who used to breed field golden retrievers and later transitioned to toy poodles. In 2018, I started actively volunteering and working with Guide Dogs of America, focusing on puppy selection and raising. We even applied the training methods to our pup, Koda! I'm quite an outdoorsy person and enjoy activities like paddleboarding, wake surfing, and hiking. I have a special fondness for water. If you'd like to know more, feel free to ask. I'd also love to meet you and your pup! Thanks, KT 😊
Reviews
Katie took such kind care of our Aussie, whose nervous tummy caused a bit of havoc. Thank you, Katie for keeping such a close eye, cooking her some yummy things to settle her stomach, and making sure she had a place to relax. We are so grateful!
Katie was fantastic. Very reliable, communication and cared about my dog! Highly recommend.
Friendly former trainer/guide. Convenient to the Nations
Katie and family welcomed our pups with open arms. Worked with us last minute, as our “old sitter” cancelled last minute. Thank you Katie for taking care of half the pack!

Information Katie C. would like to know about your pet
I'd really appreciate it if you could share the commands you use with your pup. If you have a crate, please bring it along, along with something that has your pup's scent, like a bed, blanket, towel, or a favorite toy. I have a variety of toys here, and I usually provide most pups with a bone to help ease any anxiety. It's important to let me know about your pup's behavior and how they interact with other dogs. Some pups may require special care if they have a history of aggression or abuse. Traumatic experiences can change a dog's temperament, especially when their owner leaves, which can elevate their stress levels. Rest assured, my priority is to ensure everyone's safety, happiness, and well-being. While Rover is a great app, it's worth noting that there are insurance policies to consider on both the Rover sitter side and the user side. I take great pride in prioritizing safety and ensuring that we all have a wonderful time together.
A typical day
Typically, we enjoy going on walks, spending time in the backyard, and playing with our own pup, Koda! On occasion, I'll set up a pool and sprinklers, along with a large fan to keep things cool and fun. When it comes to puppies, I'm a firm believer in starting their training as early as 8 weeks old. I often incorporate the training methods used by Guide Dogs of America to help puppies develop both mentally and physically. Our training sessions usually take place in our backyard, where we cover the basics. However, it's not all work; we also make sure to have plenty of fun outdoors! Koda is a fantastic playmate for all dogs and enjoys playtime. If you're interested, I'd be happy to share any training tips and tricks I've picked up along the way! ?
