I spend most of my weekends hanging out with my dog, Dexter. We play in the yard, visit dog parks, stroll around the neighborhood, and also enjoy being couch potatoes. Meeting new dog friends is our favorite thing. We would love to have you dog over for a day of playtime or a sleepover! I mostly have experience with large dogs having previously owned a Doberman and a lab/Norwegian elkhound mix. Your dog will get to play in a large fenced yard, and curl up in a cozy house where barking is 100% ok. My "dog parenting" style is firm yet patient, I believe that punishment does not work for dogs (and can worsen some issues). I'd rather focus on setting the stage for success, rewarding good behavior, and timeouts or less attention when I’m looking for different behavior. I also believe a tired dog is a good dog. If I’m seeing behavior issues, my first step is to try to get my dog engaged in exercise or a game, and it usually helps.
