Pet care experience
I have many years professional pet care experience! I worked for Homeward Animal Shelter in Fargo, ND for 5 years on a part time basis as an animal care technician during undergrad. After graduating college with my B.S. in Zoology, I owned and operated my own pet sitting and dog walking business, Kat Walks Dogs, full time. Currently, I work as a Vet Tech Assistant at the U of M Veterinary Medical Center and I will be starting school again to become a Certified Vet Tech in January.

Katie is phenomenal -- She cared for my pup, Gerry, several times a week for a little under a year. Gerry (who doesn't get along with everyone) looooved Katie, and was always happy, well behaved, and totally out of energy after long walks or spending time at the dog park with Katie. Katie was always available when I needed her, flexible with my schedule, and prompt in her communication. Don't know what I would've done without her! Highly recommend to anyone in need of a great petsitter!
Katie is a huge animal lover. She will care for your cats or dogs like they’re her own! Katie takes the time to get to know the pets and their personalities which helps with the stress of them being away from their owners. I highly recommend her!

I am not able to care for pets in my home as I have my own pets and roommates. I will treat your pets like my own! Each visit will be documented and I will send pictures. Hopefully cute ones, but you know how it goes, right? Or is it just my pets that get camera shy as soon as my phone comes out?

There's the big things like: food, water, medications, and vet information, just in case. How much, when, where? Other details: Are they crated when no one is home? How often is the litter box cleaned out? Where do you want poop bags to go? How should I clean up accidents, should they happen? Where are the cleaning supplies? Then there's the fun stuff! Favorite toys, favorite places to go, favorite treats?
A typical day
Walks will happen where you want them to happen. Any route suggestions are welcome, especially if you have a reactive dog, or specific routes that you know your pup loves! If you have a yard, we can play fetch, too! Have training games that your dog loves? Tell me, I’d love to get your dog some mental stimulation as well as some exercise!

Availability
I work normal hours Monday through Friday with a flexible lunch hour. So I am able to accommodate morning, early midday and evening visits around that. I am not available from 1-3 pm on weekdays due to work responsibilities. My weekends are completely free!
