Pet care experience
I have been a dog lover my whole life and four years ago, I made it my job. This is my primary work for the time being so I am home the majority of the day to provide walks, playtime, belly rubs, and company for your furry friend. Before Rover I worked at a doggie day care in mid-town Manhattan and as a walker in Bed Stuy, where I was responsible for dogs ranging from a shy senior yorkie, to an enthusiastic young rottweiler. I also spent a few years at Woofs n' Whiskers in Red Hook. Working with Rover I have had the opportunity to care for an even greater variety of furiends, my largest charge being a playful 110lb Bernese mountain dog and my smallest, a lazy 5lb pomeranian. I try to provide my pups with a comfortable environment similar to what they are accustomed to at home. I always have a cabinet full treats (jerky, peanut butter, biscuits, including some grain free varieties) and there is a basket full of toys (many of which I made myself) right by the front door. If there is space, dogs are welcome to sleep on the bed. I also have a few dog beds and pups are welcome on the couches. I love the park just as much as my furiends so adventures are always on the agenda if your pup is up to it. I live in Flatbush, Brooklyn, just a few blocks away from the highly convenient Church Ave. BQ station. My neighborhood is full of friendly people, many of whom have dogs of their own. Additionally, it is just a seven block walk up to Prospect Park! I am passionate about the environment and sustainability. I've been a vegetarian for over 17 years, litter bugs make my blood boil, and you can sometimes find me helping out with compost on the weekends at Q gardens.

Best sitter EVER. We love Katie, she is a great communicator, the dogs get lots of walks, and she keeps them happy. I’m so happy I found her
Another great stay with Katie. Thank you for all the updates and great care!
My dog loves Katie and her boyfriend. When we would round the corner to Katie's block, Red would quicken her pace and get so excited. So much love! As her human, I love all the cute pics and updates. Katie is truly a dog person and it shows. 5 stars*****
We have been boarding our dog with Katie for a week and she sends pics daily of our fur baby out and about enjoying Brooklyn. Very happy with the care she has been getting. Lot’s of one on one attention.

Information Katie A. would like to know about your pet
I will send an intake form for you to fill out so I can be sure to have all necessary info about you beloved pet including feeding instructions, medical and allergy information, emergency contacts, and leash manners. Please pack food, treats, a toy or two, bedding if needed, wee wee pads if needed, and anything else that will help your pet feel at home! Extendable/retractable leashes can be tricky with multiple dogs, if you have a flat/rope leash that you could bring that would be preferable!
A typical day
NOTICE: I can no longer accept pups who do not get along with others as I watch up to 3 dogs at a time. I am also unable to accept unneutered males as I have had too many issues in the past. I am also currently only accepting new clients with relatively mellow pups as my girl Rhiannon is a recent rescue and overly excited furiends are very overwhelming for her. Follow me on instagram @flatbushfluff for an inside look at my sitting style. Since I am home most of the time, I’m happy to design the stay around your pup’s needs. It’s no problem for me to take frequent walks if that’s what they need, or just to hang around for some cuddle time if that’s more their speed. A typical day at my apt: 7am Breakfast and a short walk 12pm 3-4 mile walk in the park 3pm Peanut butter kong time! 5pm Dinner and a walk 8pm Bedtime walk Times in between are filled with playtime, belly rubs, and snuggles!
