BSC Animal Bio graduate

Pet care experience

I’m Katie, i’m 22 and have recently completed a degree in Animal Biology at Nottingham Trent University. At the moment I have moved back home from university, so I am unable to take bookings from the Nottingham area anymore. Because I am back home I am now unable to take care of pets within my own home. Over the summer i worked part time at a boarding kennels, and i also take care of my 4 pets, a dog, 2 cats, and tortoise! I have always had a love for animals, and therefore decided to persue it at university. Working at a boarding kennels has given me experience in taking care of a range of different pets, including aggressive, fearful, and even hyperactive animals! I have studied Animal Care level 2 and Animal Care level 3 extended diploma at college. During my time there i have worked on modules such a basic animal first aid, which i feel will be inavuable when it comes to looking after our furry friends. I am more than happy to take care of any species of pet, I have experience taking care of fish, ferrets, cats, reptiles, amphibians, invertebrates, and birds. I am a very caring person and treat pets like they are family, i am very trustworthy and reliable. I can’t wait to hear from you! *COVID-19- I am still happy to take bookings during this period of time, with government advice I will wear a mask when looking after any pets, and will bring sanitiser to clean anything I have come into contact with. If you wish to make a booking but are unable to meet in person, a phone call, skype/teams call is more than okay*

Really happy with how things went! She kept in touch regularly, asked permission before taking Logan out and kept me updated with lots of nice photos. Would definitely let her dog sit Logan again!

Katie literally saved me back in August, when I was stuck at work walking Loki for me! She was very professional, immediately available and helpful as she had to collect Loki from my landlord, while I wasn't home. She sent me many pics of my dog and details about their wall while they were out, highly recommended!

I can say without any shadow of a doubt that Katie provides an excellent dog walking and pet care service and if Oscar could type I am sure he would say the same. Katie has a very calm, patient, loving nature with all her animals they seem to enjoy being with her. I would not hesitate in using Katie’s services in the future. I would be totally confident that Oscar would be well looked after and as happy as he could be away from his normal home.

Information Katie A. would like to know about your pet

I have more experience in looking after small dogs, and also those who are nervous. I would like to know what your dog enjoys playing with e.g. fetch, tug, soft toys. What do they eat, how often, meal times, when are their usual toilet breaks, are they house trained. If your dog is aggressive towards other dogs/children - I have experience working with aggressive dogs, but of course will need to know. Most importantly does your dog have any illnesses or require any daily medication.

A typical day

I am located next to a large park, a dog will enjoy long walks in different areas, such a fields or housing estates. A dog will get to socalise with other dogs and humans, and can play with whatever they enjoy!
