LITTLE DOG LOVER!
Pet care experience
I am the mother of 2 brother shitzu maltese mixes that love to wrestle and play with each other and other little dogs. We live on a street that accesses the Core Trail that runs along the river as well as 1 block from a big park that many dog walkers frequent. I also have two sons, 11 and 12 years old, that love animals and are on board to help care for your pups or whatever! In addition to our 2 dogs we have 3 aquariums, a snake, a gecko, a hamster and 6 chickens - definitely have experience caring for animals :)

Kathy was super easy to work with and took great care of our pup while we visited the hot springs. Can't wait to use her again the next time we're in town!
Kathy and her boys took excellent care of my puppy. They even taught her to "sit" and "lie down". Her own dogs were friendly and provided opportunities for playing and companionship. Kathy also sent me pictures and text messages every night, reassuring me that my pup was doing well Thank you so very much for taking such good care of our Twiggy.
We got into a sticky situation when we arrived at our condo and learned it wasn't pet-friendly. Kathy relied to my request almost immediately. She was very flexible and a great communicator. We made arrangements to get ziggy, my 6-month old puppy, to get to Kathy's home. She sent me pictures so I knew he was right at home. Kathy was very responsive and I was able to come and go with ziggy throughout his stay. He had a great time with her family - the kids were great with him and so helpful. Her 2 small dogs were great company for ziggy as well. Thank you, all and will definitely catch you next trip to steamboat :)

I am mildly allergic to dogs and prefer hair breeds if they are to stay in my house, but not a necessity if you're in a bind. I do have 2 small dogs and plan on my 11 and 12 year olds helping out, so the breed should be OK with kids and other dogs.
A typical day
We can access the Core Trail, Whistler Park and the ski area for a good walk or a short drive to the leash free park in town is fun for the dogs too.
