I became acquainted with Rover.com because my husband and I need a loving "home" for ours Shih Tzu babies for a week last summer. In this search, I thought how wonderful it would be to be a foster parent of sorts to people needing loving care for their precious baby(ies). While growing up we had 3 dogs, and I've never been without a dog since! We consider our pets family and try to include them in as many of our activities as possible. We currently have 2 very laid back Shih Tzus named Lucy and Chloe. Their entire mission in life is to love and be loved. We also have a Shi-poo named Poppy, and a "grand dog", puggle named Daisy Mae. We enjoy having her visit and sit her at times. I'm a retired teacher who has an absolute passion for dogs. I'm not looking for a career, but rather a to provide pets with loving care when needed. I have an extremely flexible schedule. As a long term pet parent, I have experience giving various medications. Although I've not given injections to animals, I have given many injections to people. I stay current on dog related issues. Our own dogs drink water with Healthy Mouth additive for dental hygiene. We stay abreast of potential toxins in foods and plants, such as the sweetener xylitol. Currently I walk about 5 miles and I'd love to have your fur baby join me! Looking forward to being your pet surrogate!
