My name is Katie. I’m a full time dog groomer and have a lot of experience working with pets. I have been around dogs since the day I was born, never without one in my life. I grew up with two gentle giants, my parents Bouviers, Bear and Irving. I have since adopted my own dog, Sheba, a rescue from Animal Humane. I love dogs, as well as cats, and I cannot imagine my life without them. For boarding in my own home, I can only accept one animal at a time since I have pets of my own. This way I am able to give the best care possible to boarded pets as well as my own. I do not offer any grooming services through Rover, but I’d be happy to set up appointments at my place of work! I look forward to hearing from you.

Katie is an EXCELLENT pet and house sitter! She took care of our two high-energy cattle dogs for two weeks while we were on vacation in Europe. She sent daily pictures and provided regular updates and did some quirky things for our dogs (at our request) as needed! When we got home, the house was in great shape, and most importantly, our dogs were in excellent shape and happy and healthy! We will definitely use Katie in the future and highly recommend her.

I have a dog and cat of my own that get along great with other dogs and cats alike. Since I live in an apartment, daily care includes two half hour walks, one in the morning and one in the evening.

It is important that your dog get along well with other dogs and at the very least, tolerates cats. It is also important that they are potty trained.
A typical day
I love to take my own dog hiking, running, and walking. We spend a lot of time hiking the back of the Sandias as well as the foot hills.

Availability
I work four days per week, 8 hour shifts. As far as boarding, your pet will be free to roam my home while I am at work. If you prefer I kennel them, I am happy to do that as well. I will never leave my dog or any dog I am sitting alone for longer than 8 and a half hours, but they would be alone for the day while I work. For this reason, I cannot accept puppies that are currently being potty trained. I do not work Mondays, Tuesdays, or Wednesdays, and on these days I would be home all day with the dogs.
