Active, animal loving household!

Pet care experience

***Please read entire page before requesting.*** ***Please be aware I require photos of current vaccinations before booking. (For mine and your dog's safety).*** Oh how we have missed our furry friends! ❤️❤️❤️ ***Please don't request bookings if you are showing symptoms. Please wear a face covering when dropping off/picking up if you are not vaccinated. After bookings, we trust you to let us know if you have been sick, or have been in contact with someone who has been sick, and we will most definitely let you know on our part.*** Hi! I'm Kathryn, a part-time stay at home mom. I work in the IT Field, for the most part, never gone for more than 4 hours during the week, unless there’s a large project I happen to be working on. In this home, we are a household full of animal lovers! If I am not home, an adult is almost always present. My husband (Steve) works a Mon-Fri and is fully available on the weekends/evenings as a partner in caring for your fur baby. Also, my sister-in-law (Maritza) lives right next door to us with a shared, enclosed yard; she is able to help out with caring for your fur baby; taking them into her home as well and assisting with pickup/drop off for times when I can’t be there. In all, there are 3 adults who help keep an eye on the pups. My home is a back house, which I consider to be a plus as we are not directly on the street and yet there is plenty of yard space for your furry baby to stretch their legs. I have a dog door that allows your pup access to my yard for potty breaks. *IF and ONLY IF* I’ve boarded your pup a couple of times and know that I can trust them, I will lallow them access to the dog door when I step out of the house. I know how nerve wracking it is to leave your loved one behind, trust me, I've done it too! I text updates and photos to you to ease your mind. Also, you can follow my pet sitting account on instagram "lunasfurryfriends" where I will post additional photos and video of your furbaby hanging out with me. **Disclaimer: If for any reason, you do not want your furbaby posted on my instagram account please let me know specifically, otherwise I will post.** I have a Whistle 3 GPS tag I can secure to your pets collar for extra safety measures when they stay with us if you’re dog is a flight risk. This tag alerts my phone when it gets outside of my wi-fi range, letting me know that the escape artist has left my premises and I am able to follow their location. HOWEVER, this is an EXTRA safety measure, and for the most part isn't needed because I don't leave them unattended in my yard. If for any reason I need to run an errand and no adults are home, I have a security camera that will allow me to check in on your pet to make sure he/she is doing ok, this also alerts me if any doors have been opened while I am gone. I know I may sound a bit paranoid, but in my personal experience, I left my own dog of seven years with a pet sitter and unfortunately, he got out of her home, dug a hole under her fence, got out...searched high and low but I'll never know what happened to him. :'( HENCE, all my EXTRA safety measures! You can rest easy knowing that if by some devious escape plan your fur baby tries to take off, I will most definitely have them covered. :) Regardless, your fur baby will have a blast! **** Meet & Greets required for new clients.**** Due to the pandemic, I am holding meet and greets outside in my yard only. Meet and greets help ensure your pup is a good match for our home (and vice versa) and gives your pup a chance to smell the new place before staying with us. **** Doggy Day Care **** My rate is for a nine hour period. I am flexible with drop-off, but the latest pick-up time for doggy day care is 9p.m. Please be aware my schedule is always changing. When you contact me for doggy day care, I will let you know my current schedule.

Information Kathryn L. would like to know about your pet

All breeds welcomed! If multiple requests have been made for the same dates (I will inform families and ensure that dogs get along)! -Are they dog-friendly? -Current Vaccinations? -Food allergies? -Food aggressive? -Their daily routine; feeding schedule, potty schedule, etc. -What type of flea control are they using? -Level of energy? -Are they cat friendly? (I do have a cat that is in and out of my home, she generally hides, and has avenues of escape, like her cat shelf, where she can get up high to stay away from the dogs. If your dog isn't cat friendly, it generally isn't an issue, but I would like to be made aware of it for safety reasons, thank you!)

A typical day

I live in a quiet neighborhood with wide streets near a dog park. We will enjoy daily walks around the neighborhood and a paved walking trail, tug of war or catch in the yard. With your permission, we can enjoy hiking on the weekends, the dog park, or during warmer weather, the dog beach. (During warm weather, I try to take walks in the early morning and later in the evening.) **Disclaimer: If we visit the beach or dog park and your fur baby gets really dirty, I will give him/her a bath.** I have a kiddie pool your fur baby can splash around in during warmer weather. I have a friendly Labrador and Siberian Huskies whom your dog can play and socialize with; if you'd like to know more about them, head on over to their profiles. However, if your fur baby is a senior or low-energy personality type, we can just hang out, Netflix it, and keep it calm too. We can also separate the younger ones from the older ones to help out with ensuring a calm environment. Generally, my pup (5 yrs old) respects his elders and their space. -Sleeping arrangements: I prefer to have your fur baby sleep in my room (on a dog bed) along with my dog, sometimes especially with younger dogs, it isn't always possible because my dog and your dog will just not sleep and try to play all night not letting me sleep. Lol. When this happens, your dog (if they are crate trained) will most likely be put into crate or if not crate trained, then my dog will be crated in my room. If it is still not working out then I will have no option but to have your fur baby sleep in my living room or fenced off in my kitchen.
