Hi, my name is Kathryn and I can't wait to meet you and your furry friend! I am a young entrepreneur, a responsible petsitter, and an absolute animal lover. I am a free, easy going spirit and I love helping other people out. I offer house sitting, drop-in visits, and walking services. I have a lot of availability with my schedule so please feel free to send me a request so we can get to know each other! I've loved dogs my entire life, and I also am a big cat lover. If I am in a house with cats, they will usually come out to find me and find their way into my lap. As a child, I grew up in a house full of pets. I have experience caring for many different types of animals, such as dogs, cats, fish, mice, birds, and guinea pigs. I was especially in love with my guinea pig, Snuggles, as a child! I care for dogs of almost any size. My breed experience includes Labs, German Shepherds, Golden Retrievers, Huskies, Jack Russells, Hounds, and Pomeranians. I have also cared for senior dogs, puppies, and dogs of varying energy levels. I'm confident I have the experience necessary to handle most dogs' personalities! I love petsitting because it is much more to me than just a job. Dogs are just so loving and have a way of understanding people's mood - they want to make their humans happy too! I have such a soft spot for taking care of animals. I once rescued a golden retriever who had been hit by a two cars. I took the dog to the vet, but they couldn't operate on the dog unless there was payment up front. I fronted the money while we located the dog's owner. When it comes to animals I'll do anything to make sure they're cared for! My promise to you is that all pets will be safe and feel loved while under my care. When I'm not petsitting, I enjoy getting a workout by doing aerial arts and yoga. I also love getting outside to go hiking on new trails any chance I can get. Kathryn stayed at my house for a week and watched my two dogs. One of my dogs is pretty neurotic and doesn’t like strangers. I was nervous to leave her. Kathryn was perfect. My dogs loved her and my house was immaculate. I especially loved all of the photos and videos. Would definitely use her again.
I felt completely comfortable leaving my (semi wild) pup with Kathryn. She was communicative, professional, and clean and had a kind loving demeanor. I would highly recommend her petsitting.
Kathryn truly exceeded all our expectations! Her radiant energy filled our home and gardens with light while we were traveling, and our animals took an immediate and striking liking to her. We have an organic, urban farm and certified wildlife habitat in Brentwood, so not your typical pet/housesitting job, and she took to it like she'd been doing it all her life. We have a cat, desert tortoise, two hens, a pond full of fish, fruit trees and veggie gardens -- and we raise monarch and swallowtail caterpillars. She nurtured them all with personal care and attention. Kathryn was wonderfully communicative (something we'd emphasized as very important to us), sending us videos of our critters eating, snuggling and enjoying time with her. She kept our home tidy and clean, and went out of her way to make certain she stayed on the farm, as there is always a task or need to be attended to. She is friendly, personable and organized; timely, energetic and yet calmly focused. We can't wait to travel more regularly (COVID permitting of course) and have her back on the farm. I would love to know about their personality, and if there are any quirks that I should be on the look out for - for example: Do they have separation anxiety? Do they like to get into the garbage? I'd also like to know what type of environment makes them the happiest! It's important to me that they are comfortable in my care, so let me know what makes them calm and happy so we can make sure they're in a comfortable situation while you're away. Before we book a stay, I would also need to know basic care instructions, what their likes/dislikes are, and if they have any special needs.
A typical day
It'll be playtime all day with me! I absolutely love playing with dogs, so if that's what your dog is into, then we will be spending a lot of time hanging out with their toys. I can accommodate most exercise routines, so let me know what your dog requires. If we aren't playing indoors, getting exercise outside, or playing fetch, then we will be hanging out and snuggling!
