Pet care experience
I grew up with dogs, but have started taking on more and more pet care jobs over the last 5 years. It started out with just family, then friends, and now you! I am happy to care for any dog, big or small, young or old, healthy or needs a little help. I've taken care of dogs that have specific health conditions such as diabetes, seizures, and thyroid problems. I will do more than the bare minimum because I actively enjoy spending time with animals. Keeping them happy will be my number one priority. A little about me: I'm a design student at UIC and have classes 4 days per week. Monday and Wednesday, I'm in school from 9-3. Tuesday and Thursday, I'm in school from 9-12.

Katie was fantastic! She sent me updates and pictures daily. My pup clearly felt comfortable with her and I wouldn't think twice about using Katie again!
Katie was great at staying in communication with us and letting us know how the pets were doing. All the pets seemed to like her and even the shy cat came out the first night she was here. We have already booked Katie again for our next trip.
Kathleen was terrific with my two 12-year-old Labs both of whom have special needs - Boomer is blind with tummy challenges and Scout has anxiety. Both seemed happy and relaxed when we arrived home after Katie stayed with them for 6 days and nights. She gave them their meds, fed them on their unusual schedule and walked them despite the crummy March weather (rain and cold). Katie gave me daily updates with pictures and even removed a suspicious noisemaker in the house that was bothering Scout and making him want to go hide (an offensive beeping watch that we had left on a table). She also took good care of the house - keeping it clean and making it looked lived in to passers by. I would highly recommend Katie (Kathleen) as she is a true dog lover who will care for your dogs as if they were her own.
Katie was a wonderful pet sitter for our two dogs. We have one dog that is rather nervous when we go out of town and when we got back he was much calmer than usual. It is great to have someone we can trust like Katie!

I am open to sitting for any type of dog, as I mentioned above. However, before spending time with any pet, I like to know as much about the dog's needs and personality as possible. Being honest about your pet's needs will not keep me from wanting to care for them.
A typical day
I like to follow the typical routine your dog is accustomed to. Do you let them out as soon as you get home and play fetch for 20 minutes? Then that's what I'll do. Do you go for a walk and let your dog sniff every tree? Then that's what I'll do. In addition to the normal things you do day to day, I'll add to that with additional playing, snuggling, brushing, or potty breaks.
