My name is Kathleen and I've been working with dogs and critters on Rover for over 5 years. I have multiple references on hand and have worked in two local kennels before branching out on my own. I believe in respecting the dog, understanding dog language (i.e. whale eyes, clacking, the varieties of tail wagging,) and following the training that works best for your dog. I can offer minor training advice when asked but I am not a professional trainer. I have the experience to handle a wide range of dogs, including senior pets, anxious dogs, and reactive dogs. My experience ranges outside of canines as well: I have worked with horses, pet rats, bunnies, snakes, geckos, chickens, bearded dragons, goats, fowl, felines, and fish. I can and have watched special needs dogs, and have experience administering shots, giving pills, diluting medicines, and using oral/cream medicines. I can handle fear reactive and dog reactive dogs. I have no issue taking care of an intact dog! I do not accept dogs who bite, have a human bite history, or are aggressive towards people. With me, your dogs are assured to be safe and well-loved in the hands of an animal-savvy person. I am active in the dog training community and have my own trainer I can reach out for when needed. I'm familiar with the vets here in St. Mary's, as well as the emergency vets in Annapolis and Virginia.
