I grew up with two German Shepherds that my family raised from puppies. My husband and I chose a Springer Spaniel when it was time to get a dog for us and our kids, who were then aged 3, 5 and 8. Casey was with us until 2016. We miss him but we decided not to get another pet after he died. My kids are now aged 20, 23 and 25. The older two live close by. My son Alex is in college, home when school is not in session. His summer is job is working in a dog daycare and he's been taking in neighbors' dogs when they vacation. (We won't book through Rover if he has an in-home job.) Alex is a Rover sitter as well, based out of Narragansett where he lives during the school year. He is the resident "dog whisperer" and has excellent references. Alex may help out with clients booked through me. If you would like to meet him before he cares for your dog or do not want him substituting for me, please let me know and I will honor your request. For doggy daycare in my home, I accept one adult dog per day. I am open to taking more than one puppy if both sets of pet parents are okay with this. Each pup would need a crate or pen so they can nap separately and be safe if I have to run out. (I try to avoid leaving the dogs at all and would never be gone for any length of time, of course.) I am home weekdays and enjoy walking, so any pet boarders or day care dogs will get plenty of exercise. They will also get lots of attention, love, and treats (if allowed!)
