Bomb Dog Handler/Trainer,Vet. Tech.

Pet care experience

I am an experienced animal care taker and trainer. I have worked as a veterinary technician, trained guide dogs for people who are blind, trained marine mammals, and now work as a bomb dog handler for a private security company. Due to my background, I have the experience to give subcutaneous injections (for example insulin), administer oral medications in a reduced-stress manner for the dog, train new behaviors or maintain current ones, and exercise and mentally stimulate dogs properly to maintain daily health. I have a passion for animal care, which is why I made it my profession, and my happy place is sitting in the grass with a dog on my lap. I have experience working with dogs of all shape and demeanor, from a six-pound Chihuahua through Labradors, German Shepherd, and Pitbulls to 200-pound Great Danes. Finally, I do not currently have a dog of my own so your dog would have my undivided attention.

I have had the pleasure of having Kathleen watch my dogs on several occasions. She is amazing to watch as she interacts with the dogs - she keeps their attention, can teach them new commands very quickly, and you can see her eyes light up to play with them. Additionally, since she worked in a vet office she was able to remove a tick from one of my dogs and identify when one of my dogs had a parasite we needed to take care of. She was kind enough to bring my dog to the vet and take care of administering the medications while I was away. Additionally, she is a very kind and thoughtful young woman. Every time she stays at my house I notice she has done something to help me tidy up or clean - she has done some dishes, washed the linens she used before I returned, and even vacuumed once. Even with all that on her plate, she still manages to send me updates and pictures regularly throughout my trips. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for the best care for their dogs. She is professional, talented, and I don't trust anyone else with my dogs.
