I have been a dog lover my whole life! Growing up we always had different types of dogs in our family. Although I was usually the main caretaker for our dogs at home, I gained most of my experience working with my dad in his kennels at Lincoln Greyhound Park. Being in a transition period in my life with a flexible schedule, I am finally able to pursue a career with animals. This has given me time to volunteer with Handsome Dan’s Rescue. As a volunteer I go to local shelters to walk & supply enrichment for homeless dogs. This enrichment includes basic training & evaluations to help place dogs with their forever families. I also attend training classes where some of these dogs go to give them that little something extra they need to get them adopted! My strengths are with the shy, introverted dogs and fearfully reactive ones, although I love them all and beam when they flourish. I live in my home with my husband, 24 yr old son, 5 yr old spayed pitbull/mastiff rescue Shaia & 3 yr old pitbull/Great Dane boy Keyser Soze. We have been through multiple courses of training with both dogs from general basics to more in-depth sessions including pulling and reactivity. Through my experiences I have become proficient in all types of harnesses and head halters, including gentle leaders and newtrixx. I recently became certified in dog first aid & cpr! We will always do meet & greets because your dog’s comfort and safety is my main priority. Expect to have your dogs treated as one of my own!
