Peace Of Mind While You Work.

Pet care experience

I'm a loving and compassionate dog lover looking for a few more four legged friends that need a little attention, potty time and play time while their pet parents are at work! I can't think of a time that I haven't had a dog in my life. Needless to say dogs are my lifelong passion. A few years ago I decided that caring for dogs would be my full-time job and It's been a blast! These past few years having my own pet care business with Rover has been a dream come true. I have loved every moment I have spent with my four legged friends and have been blessed developing friendships with pet parents too! I have experience in breeding which gives me special insight to the care of puppies. Having had Boston Terriers and English Bulldogs I understand and can care for brachiocephalic (flat nosed) breeds and their special needs especially in the Florida heat. I have a lifetime of experience caring for animals. Primarily dogs. From puppies, to Pomeranians, to Bulldogs I'll walk them all! ...I certainly can't forget feline family members as well. My family and I moved to Florida in the summer of 2016. I reside with my husband Travis, my two children and my two Boston Terriers; Dash and Coco. I'm a former social worker recently turned dog walker. Our dogs are our kids. Our children. We feed our pups grilled chicken and yes, they sleep with us. What a well deserved life! Because nothing can replace their undying loyalty, comfort, friendship and the unconditional love they give so willingly. I understand first hand the anxiety a pet parent can face when needing someone to care for their four legged family member. My husband and I always insisted on our dogs being cared for in their home environment by someone who will love and care for them as we would, and I'm guessing thats what you are looking for too. Otherwise you wouldn't be reading this now. Look no further. I will walk them, play with them, provide comfort, attention, and all the love they can handle. The truth be known, I'm going to get just as much out of it as they will. There's a great deal of reward that comes from helping others in this capacity. I know its my calling. Receiving the trust of a dog and their parents, to me, is a great blessing. I would be honored to be given the chance to help you. I can't think of a better profession than being able to spend time with dogs and providing a piece of mind to their parents while they're away. All our fur babies need love and attention and I'm ready and willing to provide the best care possible so you can stay focused when you need to be away from home.

Kathie is absolutely wonderful. She truly and genuinely cares for my pup (Chi) and my 2 cats as well!! My boyfriend and I recently moved to a new home, I started a new job and Kathie has made sure Chi is walked and taken care of. She gives me updates, pictures and answers any/all of my questions. She gives Chi a kong (and fills it if I forget) when it's time to go back in her crate. I am able to focus at work knowing Kathie is taking care of my puppy. Kathie is a lovely person and fabulous pet caretaker. I highly recommend Kathie to care for your fur baby(s)!!

Kathie is great. She has won over my two Italian Greyhounds (one who is a rescue). Actually, she has been walking four dogs for me the past three weeks because I am dog sitting for a friend. Walking four dogs is no easy task. She gives me timely updates and advice when I have any issues with the dogs. She genuinely cares about their well being. I have full trust in Kathie as a dog walker.

Safety, trust & environment

My tips for care and safety of your dog: -I use proper walking equipment; Harness and leash and make sure they are securely attached. Generally this is provided by the per parent. I do carry an extra harness and leash. -I avoid extremely hot concrete, asphalt, or sandy areas that can burn tender foot pads. -After a walk I check check your dogs pads for any cuts, bruises, and foreign bodies like cockleburs, pebbles, or splinters. -I always survey the path as I walk (or check backyard) in the neighborhood. I'm mindful of traffic patters. -I'm always prepared for clean-up duty. I am always a conscientious dog walker/sitter/and pup parent. I steer dogs away from your neighbor's lawn. Bring along potty bags to clean up after an event no matter what! -Hydration is paramount! I always keep cool water and a portable bowl with me. -I always carry identification with me for both the dog I am walking (hopefully tags are on a collar) and myself.

Information Kathie M. would like to know about your pet

Before I walk or drop-in on your precious pooch it's important that I know if there are special places he/she likes to explore. Other things I would like to know; If he/she is on specific medication? If he/she is up to date on vaccinations? Does he/she suffer from allergy's Do they suffer from separation anxiety? Can they have treats after a walk ? Are they aggressive? and why? Any other questions can be asked at a Meet & Greet. I tend have no preferences when it comes to dog breeds.

A typical day

I realize how important a dogs walk is to him/her. It's not only physically stimulating for them, but it's mentally stimulating as well. I will allow them the time they need to sniff and explore the world around them. If they have a toy they enjoy being tossed around that's even better! I'm a lifelong runner. So if your pooch likes to run a little than I will bring my running shoes along. Weather (heat) permitting. Safety First. I discuss walking preferences and details with pet parents at a "Meet & Greet". This way I can have an individualized plan and have a better understanding of any special needs in place before I walk your dog(s).
