I have always had a deep admiration for animals, especially dogs. For me, there is nothing quite like having a canine as a friend. To play with them and make them happy is quite possibly one of the easiest tasks in the world, but it is one that is rewarding every time. Though my full-time passion is acting, my close second is spending time with animals. In high school, I had the opportunity to volunteer at a humane society, where I learned how to work with all types of dogs, including abused and difficult ones. Though it was difficult to stomach the fact that those dogs were abandoned or hurt, I was able to care for them and help them find loving homes. Though dogs are my favorite, I also have extensive experience with horses. I've owned two horses in my life (so far!) and have been riding over ten years. For those with experience with horses, you know this means I am a dedicated person and a hard worker. As a result of my upbringing surrounded by animals, my time at the humane society, and my experience with horses, I have a strong understanding of dog obedience training and how to reinforce it. I have endless patience and strongly believe in mental stimulation to expend energy. If you'd like, I could even teach your dog a trick while you are away! As I am more of the outdoorsy type, I love taking long walks. Being from Minnesota, I am no stranger to bad weather. Rain, shine, or blizzard, I make sure the animals in my care get the care and exercise they need. I strongly believe I am one of the best people you can choose to care for your furry friend(s) while you're away, and I hope to have the opportunity to get to know them! What Kat Would Like to Know About Your Dog I love and respect all dogs equally, and have no breed preferences whatsoever! I find it helpful to know your dog's temperament and how he/she responds to other dogs, new people, and children. I would also like to know what makes your dog nervous or anxious and what comforts them in order to keep him/her calm and happy. I would like to know what types of toys and treats your dogs enjoys so I can be his or her favorite person (second to you, of course!)
