I have always grown up with dogs. First, two fantastic Golden Retrievers named Haley and Henry; and currently a wonderful Shepherd mix named Harvey who does not live with me. I grew up in suburban New Jersey and spent vacations and summers in coastal Connecticut so my dogs experienced a whole variety of range, from cities, to ocean, to woods. I was partially responsible for training my dogs, as well as endless playing and cuddling. I also managed to teach my dogs some basic tricks, like "paw", sit, lie down, and even how to open the back door! I also have experience pet-sitting smaller dogs. One, a sweet little mutt named Scruffy from the Upper West Side in Manhattan. Together we would frequent the dog park, go for runs along the river, and watch Gossip Girl. The other is another great little mutt named Stanley from suburban New Jersey. Stanley liked going for long walks and to be chased around in the backyard but really, truly valued cuddle time. When I am not physically with dogs I often spend my free time showing friends pictures of dogs and wishing I was around more dogs. I have been with a dog throughout their entire lifespan and get along with every dog I encounter. I am educated in harnesses, leashes, and how to deal with various dog situations. Currently I live in the woods with my three pets - including dog Winona who I rescued a few years ago when she was five. She was a very anxious dog but with lots of time and patience, she is now truly her absolute best self!
