About me: I've been around many types of pets all my life, having owned them, cared for them, or played with them at friends' homes, or done pet sitting for friends or family. I also used to work at PetSmart in the Pet Care department, and gained even more experience with a large variety of animals. I love animals! Playing, walking, cleaning up waste, feeding/watering, and giving medications are all things I feel comfortable with. I've owned cats, rats, guinea pigs, and fish. I've pet sat dogs, cats, birds, a guinea pig, and even a gecko. I've also cared for reptiles, mice, hamsters, guinea pigs, fish, and birds through the store at which I worked. I'm very experienced and feel I can read animal body language and behavioral cues very well. I'm especially good with senior pets and feel very comfortable attending to their special needs. I am also very good with addressing minor injuries and can keep a cool head in emergency situations. I know the difference between when emergency vet care is needed and when it is not. I'm also a good communicator for anything needed. I've been bitten on occasion, but I understand it is usually not because of aggression so much as fear or illness. Sometimes it is simply a reaction when they do not have a better way to communicate what they are feeling. I've learned to adapt to the myriad reasons for why biting might occur and I never to blame the pet as being aggressive.
