Pet care experience
Hi, I'm Kat! I'm a Ph.D. student at Boston University. I'm a pet lover who grew up with dogs and cats my whole life! Pets provide great company, so it's really as much fun for me as it is for them! I have a cat, Salem, who is my entire world, and a dog, Jesse, who is at home in Texas with my family. As the owner of a very timid dog and having worked with a number of shy cats, I understand that building trust with animals takes time. I will put the time in to gain their trust while respecting their boundaries. I have two years of experience volunteering with a German Shepherd rescue group in Dallas, TX where I transported dogs of all ages from animal hospitals or shelters to foster homes. I have also dog and cat-sat with Rover for the past 5 years. I'm comfortable with giving medication and caring for pets of any size or age. I send regular photo updates as much as possible to ensure your comfort and to know your pet is happy and well taken care of.

Katherine is amazing . This is the second time she has watched our Jack Russel and German Shepard and they love her. They can be a handful and she was just great with them. We got plenty of pictures and she left our place cleaner than she found it. We would highly recommend.
Katherine did a stellar job caring for my Cat. He gets anxious when no one is around, but he was great when I got home after Katherine took care of him. You could tell someone really took the time to spend with him making him feel comfortable and at ease. Highly recommend Katherine's caring style.
Katherine was amazing. She took care of both our German Shepard and Jack Russel (who can be an ass sometimes) and sent us tons of pictures. We can tell they had a blast going for walks. She left our place in great shape after staying with them for 3 nights and was highly communicative the whole time. 100% would highly recommend.
Katherine was a great cat sitter! Katherine included many updates and pictures throughout the day so I knew my cat was doing well. My cat is older and likes a lot of attention, and he seemed perfectly happy when we got back so I know he had a great time hanging out with Katherine over the weekend. Would book her again or recommend to a friend!

I would like to know if they get along with other animals and about their general temperament. If they have separation anxiety, I’d like to know if there’s anything in particular that soothes them. Details about their diet and any food restrictions is also very important. Any breed is acceptable!
A typical day
I love going for walks to explore the city, especially the Boston Common or the Public Gardens! I also love snuggling up with pups so we can spend quality time together after play time when we’re all tired out.

Availability
I am a full-time student, so I am available primarily in the evenings and on weekends. If housesitting, I am able to work from home on Friday to be with your pet most of the day. I do not have a vehicle, so it is important to be accessible by public transit.
