I have a passion and love for dogs

Pet care experience

Hi! To all my wonderful clients, I found out I will have to be moving soon (as of 6/22). I don’t know where I’ll end up, hopefully I can continue doing this once I move, I will let you all know what happens but unfortunately for the next month I will have to take a step back since I’ll be busy trying to find a place to move and moving. I am so sorry, this is very unfortunate as I have been really enjoying my time doing this. Thank you to everyone who has let me watch your furry friend for you, I’ve been loving every second I spend with each and every one of them. My name is Kat. I have always had a huge love for animals and believe they should be treated as the angels they are. I started dog walking and sitting, as well as cat sitting when I was 13 years old. It was a great way for me to get my dog fix and start learning the responsibility it takes to care for a dog. From the time I can remember I was always begging my parents to get a dog, making them powerpoint presentations and booklets on why I would be an amazing dog owner. All of that work finally paid off and when I turned 15 it finally happened, my dream came true and I became the owner of a little Corgi named Biscuit. He was my sidekick and best friend for 15 years until he passed away in 2019. I attended Norfolk County Agricultural High School where I majored in Veterinary Science and minored in Canine Science. I learned about dog behavior while there which has taught me how to read dogs language and how they’re feeling. Along with that I learned basic dog training and grooming skills, so if your dog needs a little training or some spa time I am happy to provide that. I was a baker at my previous job and love to bake up yummy, healthy organic dog treats as well, so if your dog has a birthday while in my care I will bake them up a little something special for their special day. Photography is also a love of mine and most of the pictures on my phone are of dogs. I will send you updates every day of how your dog is doing and provide you with lots of pictures and videos. I know how hard it can be while being away from your furry family member, so I know how much it's appreciated to see how your dog is doing. I will treat your little four legged family member with the utmost compassion and love. *please note I occasionally have two wonderful dogs named Tilly and Ernie who sometimes stay with me (usually not at the same time as each other). They are both great with other dogs and absolutely love to play and cuddle. I will let you know ahead of time if I'm going to have either of at the same time you book with me. If your dog is friendly with other dogs and I'm not expecting to have one of them at the same time I have you dog, I am always happy to bring your dog/s to one of them and have a little playdate as well.

Katherine was amazing! Our golden retriever puppy is very clingy, having not socialized too much during the pandemic. The first day we dropped him off he was a little hesitant to see us go, but by the second day he was running to Katherine as if he has known her his whole life. He proceeded to run into her home without saying goodbye to us which we are a little upset about LOL. We have already made plans to have Katherine watch him again the next time we're in town.

Kat is amazing! She took great care of Penny and Maple and let us know throughout the week what they were up to. We loved getting pictures - the dogs looked very happy!

Katherine was so lovely with our one and a half year old golden doodle Buddy. Due to the pandemic he has been surrounded by us 24/7 - so I was really nervous on how he would do while we were away. But Katherine was so loving and kind, she send me updates everyday including videos and pictures which really put me at ease. Buddy came home happy and exhausted from all the walks and play time he recieved. I would definitely rebook her and recommend her to anyone as nervous as I was!!!

Katherine took great care of our quirky little guy and really seemed to enjoy him, too, which was the clencher. She was a great communicator, responsive and flexible. Buster would happily go stay with her anytime.

I have a fenced in yard and love to walk and be outside. I am always with the dogs so they’re never alone. I usually only have one or two dogs with me at a time, once in a while it’s three. I try to make sure the dogs will be a good match if they’re form different households, and if your dog would do better by themselves I make sure to not overlap them with another dog. When it comes to feeding, some dogs can be food aggressive so I always feed dogs from desperate household in different rooms.

Information Katherine C. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know if your dog gets along with other dogs or not, if they don't I will take the necessary steps to keep your dog and other dogs safe. Also if they require any special needs, medications, etc. I want to provide you and your dog the best care and allow everyone to be safe and happy. I like to keep your dog on a similar schedule to the one they are used to when they are home with you, so please let me know when they usually eat their meals and go out, etc. I also do the same with any behavior and training, so if your dog isn't allowed on furniture at your house, I won't let them on mine. However if they are, my furniture is dog approved and they are more than welcome to make themselves at home on my furniture.

A typical day

I live near several parks and forests, some walking distance and some just a quick drive away. Some of my favorite places to go are Cutler Park, The Charles River Peninsula, and the Needham Town Forest. I have lots of toys for your dog to play with, as well as a fenced in yard to run around in. Currently dog sitting is my full time job, so I am almost always at home. My boyfriend also lives with me and he works from home and also loves dogs, so there will always be someone home with your dog.
