Experienced Dog Sitter Near Parks!
Pet care experience
My mother is a veterinarian and I grew up around dogs constantly. I worked as an employee at the animal hospital for several years. Growing up, my family has had several dogs - all labs or lab mixes. I have significant house-sitting experience for dogs of all sizes/breeds and absolutely love dedicating time to dogs. As I work in-person at a high school, it is not the right time for me to have a dog at home - Rover has been such a great way for me to spend time with some wonderful pups! I have a Master's degree in Higher Education from Harvard and am currently working as college counselor at a private school. I have summer off, so I can dedicate plenty of time to your pup while you are away on vacation! I am familiar with various leash types and am comfortable walking high-energy dogs, dogs who do not do well with other dogs etc.. I do have experience watching special-needs dogs and I am completely comfortable doing so ! I have been watching dogs with Rover for five years and have loved the experience. I also worked for a dog-walking company based out of South Boston last year for several months!

I cannot describe how thankful we are that we found Kate. We had to leave Boston for about five days and this was the longest that we had to leave our precious Daisy in a very long time and the first time that we left her with someone from Rover that long. Kate was incredibly professional, gracious, thoughtful, and compassionate. While we were gone, She gave us multiple updates throughout the day with pictures which kept us very informed and at ease. I cannot recommend her enough!!!
Kate was absolutely amazing! My doodle loved her as did I. She sent countless photos updating me about the fun she and my pup were having, and kept me up to date frequently throughout the day. I have never left my pup overnight with anyone before, and she went out of her way to make me feel comfortable and know that Teddy was in good hands. Can’t thank her enough - I will definitely be using her again to take such good care of my dog.
Katherine is wonderful caregiver and friend to our French Bulldog, Sammie. Sammie gets lots of love and attention when she visits Katherine's home. She has plenty of snuggles and cozy spots to sleep, as well as long walks and romps with the ball in the park. Sammie returns home relaxed and content as if she'd spent the day at the spa! It's always a pleasure to talk with Katherine, she's very thoughtful, organized, responsible. Arranging our schedules is a snap. I highly recommend Katherine to anyone looking for a sitter with a big heart for animals, a sense of humor, and keen appreciation for the individual personalities of the pets in her care.
Katherine was amazing with our dog - he had a great time hanging out with her and came home very tired! She is very easy and quick to communicate with and very professional. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter.

I would like to know if a dog has any specific triggers that may cause him/her to act in a different way. It is important to me to know a dog's routine so that should I be taking care of them, they feel as comfortable as possible in their setting. This includes any allergies or medications as well. I love all breeds and I am comfortable with dogs of all sizes! I have experience in watching special needs dogs and I am comfortable administering treatments and providing any extra care. Although I do allow dogs on the bed and couch in my apartment, if you do not, I will maintain those rules at my house. My goal is to keep things as consistent as possible so as to make your dog most comfortable!
A typical day
I live in Charlestown and love to spend time walking by the Navy Yard or over to the Esplanade. If your dog likes parks, I love going to the dog park for socialization and fetch! I spend a lot of time reading as well, so I am always up for a snuggle with my kindle in-hand.

Availability
I work in-person 5 days a week during the school year, so if your pup can be home all day, I'm happy to hang with them! I am available however all summer once school lets out, so I can be home all the time with your pup!
