I've grown up with dogs all my life and currently care for my own dog. I have two young children and their safety is my top priority, especially for those that are requesting to board at my house; for this reason, I do require a meet and greet before taking any dog into my house. For dog boarding and day care: I have a fenced in backyard for lots of outdoor play, but would not trust it to hold up against dogs that dig to escape. For drop-in and walks: I am willing to walk up to 2 miles provided there is enough time, and if it is needed. I am also up for a game of fetch or tug-of-war. My dog personally needs a little more mental stimulation and I can work on some tricks (though I promise no great results). I do also drop in on cats, bunnies, and other small furry and feathered friends- I could possibly be talked into other small reptiles (but no spiders!).

Katherine always takes excellent care of our dog Chico and provides lots of photo updates. Chico always has a blast playing with her dog Murphy and snuggling with her kids on her couch. We always pick up a happy and tired pup!

Dog boarding/day care: My dog has become a bit dog selective in old age and I do require a meet and greet to ensure there are not issues prior to booking. We have a fenced in yard for lots of play, but again it probably would not hold up to a digger. When we are not home, for the safety of both dogs I do tend to crate dogs. If your dog is not crate trained we can still accommodate and work with you. For walks/drop-ins: Dogs are always leashed on any outing. Typically I do not let your dog say "hi" to other dogs just incase there is reactivity.

I would like to know if the dog was aggressive towards other dogs and or children. As well if their is resource guarding or leash reactivity. Or perhaps if this is the dogs first time staying somewhere new- or with another dog/kids. I would also like to know if the dog was up-to-date in vaccines.
A typical day
With a very energetic dog (even in his old age) there is plenty of play, fetch, and the kids love to engage the dogs in tug-of-war (if permitted) and pets!

Availability
As a stay at home parent, I have some flexibility to ensure your pet gets the best care possible. However, I do have kids who have school and activities and that does limit when we can do drop-ins/walks; and we usually become unavailable after 5pm. When we have a dog staying we try our best to accommodate their own schedule into ours, and make sure we can stop in between activities and give some love- and potty breaks.
