Bark and Breakfast

Pet care experience

We are a husband and wife team and every dog we look after is special. We limit the number of pups we host so that, when your dog stays with us, they get all the same love and attention they’re used to at home. Your dog will feel comfortable and cherished while in our care. And we’ve got experience working with all kinds of dogs, all kinds of quirky personalities, and all kinds of health conditions. The only foible we can’t accept are pooches with dog aggression. We’ve got to protect the other pups in our care too. Our house is a 2 bedroom bungalow with over 6000 square feet of fully secured yard. Plenty of space for the dogs to play and stretch their paws. Inside is also a dog paradise: dog beds, toys, cuddles, and the ever-popular doggy bunk bed. Our goal during your pup’s stay is to replicate what they are used to at home. So whatever boundaries and habits you want to be maintained, you get. We will not send your dog back to you with bad habits! Both of us work from home so, if 24/7 care is needed, we can make it happen. Why we love dog sitting: We've loved and owned dogs our entire lives. We give them the same love, patience, and care that we give people. We've had the privilege of adopting dogs of all kinds of sizes and temperaments: terrier mutt, hound mutt, doberman mutt, beagle, American bulldog, and doberman pinscher. About our yard: We have 6,000 square feet of fully secured yard in a dog-friendly neighborhood. It is genuinely a doggy paradise. Tons of space to romp. When your dog gets tired and wants to rest, he or she can find shade under our fruit trees or on our covered front porch. And there is always our air-conditioned home. Our experience administering medication: We can administer oral medications. We will also administer shots after you show us how you prefer to do it.

Using Rover for the first time had me kinda stressed, especially with my pup Loki needing extra care for his epilepsy. But guess what? I found Katherine and Dave, and they were a game-changer! Katherine and Dave were awesome with Loki. They didn’t just stick to the script with his meds, but they made sure he was living his best life over there. Every day, I got the cutest pics, making me feel like I was right there with him. But here’s the real deal– they made Loki feel like part of the family. They tuned into his vibe and made sure he was comfy and happy. When I picked him up, Loki was all wags and smiles, so I knew he had a blast. Really big shoutout to Katherine and Dave for making my first Rover try a total win! They treated Loki like their own, and I’m super thankful for it. Definitely hitting them up next time because Loki loves them! :)

Been going to Katherine for years now and she always takes such good care of our dogs! Great space (particular if you live on the east side) and lots of outside time, our boys always come back with real “post summer camp” energy

Information Katherine B. would like to know about your pet

We'll go over their care before your pup's visit. It's a chance for both you and us to ask questions and/or share any concerns. If it's your first time with us, we'll want to do a meet and greet before booking.

A typical day

What do you do for your dog at home? That's what we'll do too. Something that might be unique to your pup's time with us is our yard. We allow plenty of outdoor time for playing and exploring. Because our visiting dogs tend to get tired this way, we don't typically take guest dogs on walks. We'll do our best to replicate how your dog is used to sleeping at home; however, we will usually not let your pup sleep on our bed. When visiting dogs are used to sleeping in human beds, we provide a plush dog bed and place it next to our bed. It tends to work out really well.
