I’ve loved and cared for animals all my life, animals of all breeds, needs, and ages, and loved every bit of it! I’ve cared for all kinds from a set of abandoned newborn kittens who needed nursing, to an ancient Dachshund named Doc who needed to be catheterized to pee. I’m not shy, I’ve seen it all. I’ve long been the person friends and acquaintances call on to pet sit, given my experience, my reliability, and my deep love of animals. I’m comfortable with any breed of dog or cat, and at any life stage. I’m an avid walker and love helping keep pets active and engaged.

Katerina is an empathic and patient pet sitter. She's hand fed my older dog in the last stages of my fur baby's life, quietly encouraging her to eat. With my other dog, who even professional groomers hate to see coming, Katerina has patiently sat for hours cajoling my dog to let Katerina brush and detangle her. My dog is not deeply attached to Katerina. One of my cats had a tongue injury she refused to show me, but when she was alone with Katerina, she quietly opened her mouth as if to ask for help which shows a tremendous amount of trust for Katerina. I never hesitate to leave my pets in her care.
Katerina stayed with my cat last summer for 2 weeks straight and she was nothing short of amazing! My cat is high maintenance and has some difficult behaviors, but he was in such great hands. Katerina is trustworthy, empathetic, and great with pets! She really calmed my nerves about leaving my baby for such a long time and was great about following his usual routine. She was a great comfort to me and my cat, I can't recommend her enough!
Katerina has been such a huge help with our boys! Benny is quite needy (both emotionally and physically, he’s got a specific diet and sensitive stomach) and social, and Leo is an older grump. She took care of both of them over a weekend and gave us updates throughout, including when Benny had a stomach flare up. I’d trust her with them anytime and she’s a wonderful person on top of being a great pet carer!

Maintaining a safe and supportive environment for the pets I work with is key, as well as for my own pet, a sweet little hairless cat. Unfortunately I’m not able to board pets in my home due to logistical issues. However, in clients’ homes I still strive to make the environment as positive as possible. Play, exercise, and attention are key, I’ve found, to keeping minds active and spirits high. I try and maintain an active schedule of play and multiple walks. In my own home, for example, my cat enjoys daily walks (not usual for most cats but she loves it) as well as at least 1-2 active play sessions (about all she usually has energy for). For dogs, multiple daily walks and plenty of play time are my go to, as well as making time just to give love and attention. I will need to know if your pets are ok with cats or not, as my cat tends to go everywhere with me. She does not claw or ever have any trouble with the litter box, even in new environments and spends the majority of her time on my shoulder.

Availability
I’m currently a PhD student working part time and am free Saturday through Tuesday. Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, I am unfortunately unavailable. Saturdays through Tuesdays, however, my time is both open and flexible.
