Hi! My name is Katie and I am a veterinary technician. I have worked in animal welfare for the past five years, and am working towards becoming a veterinarian. I started working with animals in a boarding and day care facility, where I facilitated group and individual play times, and sent daily photographs and updates to pet owners. From there, I went on to work at my local humane society as a veterinary technician for two years, where I gained extensive experience working with cats and dogs with special medical and behavioral needs. For the past year, I have been a veterinary technician at a local speciality and emergency clinic, where I am constantly learning new things and using my experience to give my patients the best care possible. I am very comfortable interpreting animal behavior and assessing immediate medical concerns, and will take the time to be patient and understanding with your animals. I am comfortable administering medication, expressing bladders, preparing special diets, trimming nails, and so on. I am also trained and experienced in animal CPR. I will happily send frequent updates and photographs, whether it is just for a walk or an overnight stay, and will always be mindful to respect your pet's boundaries and make them as comfortable and stress-free as possible.
