Pet care experience
Hi there, I'm a licensed veterinary technician (essentially an animal nurse) currently working in Charlottesville, living in Staunton VA. I am able to offer service in either area. I'd love the opportunity to care for your pets! I work full time and am unable to leave during lunch breaks. The care I offer would be before and after work and overnight-- good for a home with dogs used to this schedule or with a doggie door. My education includes an associate's degree in Veterinary Technology and a BS in Biology from James Madison University. I am slowly but surely working on an MS in biotechnology with a concentration in bioinformatics. I have been an LVT since 2017. My work experience includes employment as a veterinary assistant at 2 previous clinics, an externship as a student LVT at the Wildlife Center of VA, a doggie day care attendant, and a kennel hand for a golden retriever breeder. If your pet has special needs or medication I would be very comfortable working with them.

We are so grateful for the love and care Katelyn gave to our Panda man. My husband and I traveled out of state to visit my dad who is in hospice care. We felt completely comfortable having her care for Panda who recently had some fainting spells because of pulmonary hypertension. She did a home stay and gave us lots of text and picture updates. We will definitely ask her to watch Panda if the need arises again.

Katelyn is awesome and I highly recommend her. From the moment we met her, we could tell that she has experience with animals and also that she loves dogs. She is great with communication, punctual and dependable. Our dogs are quite excitable and bark a lot when strangers come into our home but she arrived prepared with treats and a wonderful calm attitude. She stayed at our house for the last five days. She sent us texts to update us about how our dogs were doing (very appreciated!) and the house is cleaner than when we left. This is the first time we have ever used Rover or an in-home dog sitter and we could not be more pleased. Thank you Katelyn! We truly appreciate the care and love you gave to our dogs and for making this experience so easy for us. 5+ Stars!
Katelyn was an amazing pet sitter for my geriatric dog. Her medical training allowed me to rest easy while I was away. She even woke up in the middle of the night to let him out knowing that he has inconsonance issues. I trust her with my pets, and she was even able to give some medical advice as far as care for my older pet.

Since I do only in home stays, you tell me what your pets like! In the past I have dropped off pets at doggy day care per request of the owner. I also enjoy a nice stroll around the block!
