Pet care experience
I had dogs growing up, was a foster dog mom in DC before leaving the country for work. I'm back in the DC area and due to my current living situation cannot have my own dog yet. I'd love to be able to spend time with pups when I can! I've worked with dogs of varying sizes and energy levels. I have experience working through training and anxiety. I'm also an active person and would be open to taking your dog for a run if you wanted! Personally, I love having pets on my bed and sofa, but will respect and honor the owner's rules around this to maintain consistency for the animal(s). I look forward to providing your pup (or cat!) a warm home with lots of love and attention!

Kate did a wonderful job house-sitting for our 2 bulldogs. She was responsible, prompt with replies, loving with our dogs, and kept us informed with their status. We will definitely call her again if needed.
Kate was excellent - communicative, prompt, friendly, knowledgeable, and someone who you immediately trust with your dog. Juno felt very comfortable around her and was well taken care of. She was our first Rover dogsitter and if Kate represents the general quality of Rover sitters, it speaks very well of the service.
Katy was a fantastic dog sitter and I can't recommend her enough. She is a warm and friendly person who clearly loves dogs and relates to them from the first moment she meets them and they top her! She stayed at our house with our two precious doggies for almost a week and she sent us pictures of them on her lap playing and clearly having a wonderful time. The smiles on their faces said it all so we didn't have to worry about them at all. The house was kept clean and tidy and she was brilliant when we had a small problem with the dishwasher. She was in communication frequently and responded to our communications promptly. Katy is all round fabulous.
Kate W. was AWESOME!!!! My pups were so happy and she took the cutest photos and sent them to me while I was away. They were in fantastic hands and I highly recommend Kate W and will definitely try to get her to sit again if she is available.

It would be incredibly helpful to know how your animal experiences different environments - how to engage with other people on walks, how to engage with other dogs, behavioral idiosyncrasies and quirks (or any concerns), and of course what their favorite toy, treat, or activity is to help them feel calm and destressed.
A typical day
It would begin with a quick potty and some breakfast, ideally followed up with some snuggles or play time depending on the animal's desires. There would be an afternoon long walk and an evening walk before bed with some stimulating and interactive play in between, or if comfortable, a visit to the dog park!

I'm currently working from home and have a flexible schedule to give time, care, and attention needed to you dog. I miss having one and love the excuse it offers me to get me outside and moving!
